ISLAMABAD: Preparations were under way Sunday morning for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf?s celebratory rally at Parade Ground in Shakarparian area of the federal capital later in the day.

To ensure security at the rally site, 1,600 personnel will be deployed as per a security plan that has been issued especially for the day. Moreover, there are three ways set up for participants to enter Parade Ground. Walkthrough gates have been installed at the entry points so that no one goes in the ground without being checked for security. A separate entry point has been made for women, where female personnel will be present for frisking.

Last night PTI Chairperson Imran Khan visited Parade Ground to check underway preparations for today?s thanksgiving day or Youm-e-Tashakkur. The party workers let fireworks off during his visit.

A thanksgiving was celebrated in Islamabad on November 2, 2016 as well by PTI over Supreme Court?s order of forming a commission to probe the Panama leaks issue.

PTI had planned protests for the day but decided to shelve them after the apex court?s order was announced a day earlier, on November 1, 2016. Like today?s rally, the previous thank you day was also celebrated at Islamabad?s Parade Ground.
