KARACHI: 32 suspects ? wanted for different crimes ? were taken into custody during search operations carried out late Thursday night in various parts of the metropolis, Geo News reported.

27 suspects were detained during an operation conducted in Orangi Town's Pakistan Bazaar area late Thursday night, police said, adding that weapons and contraband were recovered from the arrestees.

Three more suspects were arrested during a search operation in Orangi Town, police stated.

Officials mentioned that the detainees were allegedly involved in various incidents of street crimes and that weapons were recovered from them as well.

During a search operation in the city's Qasba Colony, one target killer was taken into custody, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)-West Dr. Farooq said.

The suspect ? who has been identified as Shoaib (alias Chota) ? was reportedly involved in killings of two traffic police officers, Dr. Farooq explained, adding that he shot dead one each in Golimar and Board Office area.

In addition, the SSP noted that the suspect also killed a religious party worker and a woman in Orangi Town, apart from his involvement in other street crimes.

One street criminal was arrested during a search operation Site B Area, police officers said, adding that weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from him.

Double robberies in Lahore

A petrol pump and a medical store were robbed late Thursday night in Lahore's Garhi Shahu area, Geo News reported.

The dacoits stole thousands of rupees from both targets and managed to flee the crime scene.

Geo News has obtained the CCTV footage of the incidents.

Wounded dacoit detained in Hyderabad

One dacoit was taken into custody in a wounded state during an alleged police encounter at the city's Hali Road, police officials said, adding that two of his accomplices managed to escape.

Weapons were recovered from the detained suspect, who, for now, has been shifted to the Civil Hospital, police mentioned.
