All Three iPhone Models Have Reportedly Entered Volume Production

A few reports that were published recently indicates a strong July sales for many component suppliers in the iPhone supply chain which can mean only one thing. Production of 2017 iPhones is in full swing and it looks like Apple is going to be ready for the smartphones to be released on time, contrary to previously reported.

DigiTimes, reports that all three of the new iPhones i.e. "iPhone 8," "iPhone 7s," and "iPhone 7s Plus” have entered volume production (read mass production). According to the supply chain sources, there will be no shortages when it comes to LCD panels that are going to be used in the two iPhone 7s/7s Plus models, however, supply for the OLED panels “could fall short”.

The iPhone 8 has suffered a series of leaks which revealed key component parts of the upcoming device due to which it created “high expectations” and demand. This is also cited as one of the main reasons behind the shortage related to OLED panels and is expected to keep suppliers on their toes. The iPhone 8 is expected to lead record-breaking monthly and quarterly sale volumes and the high demand for the device simply means there won't be enough for everyone at the initial launch.

Apple uses three main suppliers for their products i.e. Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron, who are believed to hit sales high in the September to November period of 2017. Production output of these three iPhone models is expected to gain momentum as soon as this month, to meet the high demand at launch. Samsung is one of the key main suppliers for OLED panels and the company has planned to operate at least seven OLED panel lines at full capacity.

Sonny Dickson also revealed a few images via 9to5Mac which have all three models side by side. The image shows that all three devices have an all-glass rear design, which will allow the devices to be charged wirelessly, similar to Apple Watch's inductive charging feature.

The images show the large 5.5-inch iPhone 7s Plus, 4.7-inch iPhone7s and the highly anticipated iPhone 8, which looks like it has a similar body to the 5.5-inch variant. According to the picture, the iPhone 8 also has a vertically aligned dual lens rear camera which is reported to aid in augmented reality features.
