ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan?s brotherly ties with Turkey and said it is keen to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Talking to Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan S. Babur Girgin here earlier today, Prime Minister Abbasi said Pakistan is committed to building upon the existing equation, especially economic cooperation, with Turkey.

The Turkish Ambassador congratulated PM Abbasi on assuming office of the Prime Minister and delivered a letter of felicitation from Turkish President Erdogan to the premier.

Earlier, during a meeting with a delegation of PML-N MNAs from Multan Division, PM Abbasi reiterated that the government will extend its all-out support for fast tracking development projects in South Punjab.

The Prime Minister stated that socioeconomic development of South Punjab remained a priority of the government.

He pointed out the PML-N government has initiated numerous development projects and welfare schemes in South Punjab and will continue to undertake socioeconomic projects in the region in future as well.

PM Abbasi urged the MNAs to work with full dedication and commitment for bringing about tangible positive change. He also advised them to reach out to the people especially the poor segments of the society and help address their issues.

The MNAs briefed the Prime Minister on development projects and public welfare schemes of their respective constituencies.
