Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz and Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar address ceremony in Karachi

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Bahria Town have signed an agreement for providing garbage lifting services in the metropolis.

This was announced by Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz and Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar in a ceremony held here.

Akhtar said that Malik Riaz decided to work with KMC after seeing the city lined with heaps of garbage and dirt. ?I consider this day a lucky day [for Karachi],? the mayor said.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Riaz said that he was inspired to work with the mayor on seeing Akhtar?s motivation to work for the betterment of the city.

?I said to the mayor that I am with you. We will improve Karachi?s condition [and] work under the guidance of the mayor,? Riaz said.
