Muslims across the world are celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today (Friday) with Eid prayers being held across the western world where Eid is celebrated on the same day as in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

United Kingdom

Eid prayers were held in various mosques in the United Kingdom. Pakistan's former prime minister Nawaz Sharif attended Eid prayers in London at the Pakistan High Commission. He was accompanied by sons Hasan and Hussain as well as by nephew Suleiman Shehbaz. 

Belgium

In Brussels, the Muslim community attended Eid prayers where messages of peace were highlighted. Speaking to Geo News, people conveyed their greetings and prayed for peace in Pakistan. 

"We are very happy here, living in harmony with Muslims from different parts of the world," said one prayer-goer, adding, "we miss the traditional way of making the sacrifice on Eid, the way it is done here is nothing like how we grew up doing it in Pakistan." 

The United Arab Emirates

The largest congregation for Eid prayers took place in Abu Dhabi. Shiekh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai attended Eid prayers at the Zabeel Palace. 

In Dubai, the largest congregation for Eid prayers was attended by the Pakistani community at the Pakistan Education Academy. 

Following Eid prayers, two cannons were fired to mark the occasion officially. 

Palestine

The largest congregation for Eid prayers took place the the Aqsa mosque. 

Eid was also celebrated in different parts of the world including the United States of America, Africa, Japan, Canada, Indonesia and Bosnia
