The Dark Side Of Making Excuses

Making excuses is like trying to find a short term solution for a long term habit. And why not? Why would one not be prone to it when it comes in so handy? It is like our temporary armor to deal with an attack. We make different excuses for reaching office late even though it is not the traffic or anything else, it is just our own behavior that we are trying to hide.

Procrastination is also one of the best friends of ‘an excuse'. Look, there is a pattern which can be traced and worked on. If the problem is not taken care of in time, it often ends with us losing something we care about. It could be that dream job, your relationship, your hopes, your health. It could be anything. But you always gotta pay for an excuse, sooner or later. So keep an eye on your excuses as well as the one you are making one to. No one can be fooled forever. You probably might just be making a fool out of yourself.

You can figure out the pattern here:

1. “If they do it often, it isn't a mistake; it's just their behavior.”
