  1. About 10 years ago, a lot of people were thirsting after Robert Pattinson when Twilight came out. To this day, nothing has changed. Robert Pattinson completely took over Twitter these past couple of days and that too because of a video that came out five years ago. Once upon a time, the new Batman and model Camille Rowe did an ad together for Dior and it's going viral right now for some reason, not that anyone's complaining. Actually, if you watch the video, you'll know why it would have people talking about it all the time. Here's the full ad as well: Not that surprising that it's still making people go crazy - and horny - even now. Half the people can't stop watching the video again and again, the other half is complaining about their Twitter being filled with just that video for two days now. Basically, literally the entire internet is going crazy over this Christian Grey-esque version of RPattz, for very understandable reasons. rewatching robert pattinson dior video for the 192837392 time pic.twitter.com/9GiO01QOUB — ella (@dietcoochei) October 20, 2019 Yes, very much needed. 2. Apple's iMessage service, as we all know, is what has been keeping iOS users glued together and making them stick to the Apple ecosystem. Like, seriously. It's insane to think how a messaging service is making people remain loyal to an OS. Well, it looks like Google is finally ready to lock horns with Apple. Yes, Google is bringing its version of iMessage to Android. Users in the UK and France with Android phones will be able to opt into the new texting service called 'Chat'. © Reuters The concept of 'Chat' and 'RCS' protocol on which Chat itself is based on, is more complex than you can imagine. But in simple terms, Android Chat can be seen as an easier way to text. Much like iMessage, users will be able to see read receipts and ellipsis symbols when people type, and more. You'll also be able to send and receive high-resolution images and videos, and it all happens through either cellular data or Wi-Fi. It's going to be great, and we really can't wait for the service to expand to more countries and eventually make its way to India too. © Reuters We're not entirely sure how messaging platforms like WhatsApp and others will react to the arrival of Chat on Android. After all, this new texting service has the potential to steal the show from WhatsApp and others. But we think it's still too early to tell how it'll be received across different parts of the world. Google, in case you didn't know, has been working on an Android version of iMessage for a long time now. In fact, RCS was created all the way back in 2007 to replace SMS, but sadly the carriers didn't really show a lot of interest at that time. Now let's hope things work out in favour of Google and we finally have an iMessage equivalent on Android.

  4. Salman Khan has always maintained that he does not give much credit to the reviews by the critics, instead, it's the box office collection which is the key validating factor to a movie's success. Salman's latest release 'Bharat', which is an official remake of the South Korean film 'Ode to My Father', started off on a great note but then lost its pace at the box office market and now, it looks like it has run out of steam. The movie has managed to earn Rs 188.65 crore at the ticket windows and is struggling to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics, as some called it bland while some termed it the perfect Eid blockbuster. We wonder if the movie will be able to make Rs 200 crore at the box office. 'Bharat' was released on 4,700 screens in India and on over 1,300 screens overseas. In one of the group interviews, while promoting the movie, Salman said, “My validation comes from the box office collections... that the people have liked or not liked a film. It doesn't make a difference if someone (a critic) has given it so many stars (ratings) or ridiculed the film. It's their bread and butter. God bless them, give them two more (slices of) bread.” View this post on Instagram Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown towards 'Bharat' #BharatAudienceReactions @bharat_thefilm @aliabbaszafar @atulreellife #BhushanKumar @katrinakaif @tabutiful @apnabhidu @sonalikul @dishapatani @whosunilgrover @norafatehi @iaasifsheikhofficial @nikhilnamit @reellifeproduction @skfilmsofficial @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Jun 13, 2019 at 3:03am PDT Now that the movie is struggling to touch the Rs 200 crore mark, we wonder what Salman has to say seeing the current scenario. 5. This week, Monday came bearing its own set of saddening news for all the cricket fans in India. As an emotional Yuvraj Singh sat there informing the media about retiring from all forms of international cricket, all of us were forced to go back down the memory lane reminiscing all the magic tricks Yuvi pulled off throughout his colourful cricket career. © Reuters From being a 17-year-old making his international debut in 2000, to being a prominent stalwart in Dhoni's top squad for a long time, Yuvraj will remain one of the most prolific batting all-rounders that the cricketing world has witnessed. Nothing could hold back this champion who wielded his willow as thunderously, as he demolished the cancer in his lung that threatened to take over. © Reuters Yuvraj will always remain the unrivaled “sher” Indians have had the luck to witness. That's the reason why industry bigwigs and fans have been showering the man with well-deserved praises. All that said, the latest celebrity to join the bandwagon is Bollywood rapper Badshah who penned an emotional and elaborate message for Yuvraj Singh, giving him credit for instilling hope in the hearts of thousands of youngsters like himself to dream big and turn it into a reality. © Instagram Badshah praised Yuvraj not only for his superb skills on the field, but also for being a genuine sportsman who has always been devoted to the game, and risen above every challenge that came his way. Read Badshah's heartfelt message here: View this post on Instagram This man in the picture will always be a legend to me. Yuvi paaji is probably one of the reasons for where i am in life right now. The young kid from chandigarh who excelled in his profession and became world class. He gave hope to a lot of kids from chandigarh. One of them was me. Through his game, he made a statement that it does not matter which city youre from, what matters is where you want to go, where you want to reach and what you want to be. A typical chandigarh guy who loves his cars and his food became an inspiration for millions of kids. He taught me not to give a **** about people who put you down and how you should let your work do the talking. And his work screamed. His work roared, straight into the face of the opponents. Not a flinch. Sweeping and pulling 360 degrees. Sher khan on the field and bagheera off the field. He taught me how to bounce back. He taught everyone how to bounce back. And that too with swag. Took cancer by its horns and defeated it without a frown. Crushed whatever doubts anyone had about him or his form and fitness post cancer. Again, no words, just some magnificent batting on field. Let his bat do the talking. And once the destruction was done, he'd go back to normal life of a typical chandigarh guy - food, friends and family. No media gungho, no glorifying PR stories. Just a simple guy who loved to play for his country. I feel blessed and lucky to be able to see you play live paaji. Im a little emotional as i write this. I will miss you. India will miss you. There would never be anyone else worthy of jersey no. 12. A post shared by BADSHAH (@badboyshah) on Jun 10, 2019 at 12:15pm PDT
  6. Off late, HBO has been churning out some great content for its viewers. After the mighty success of 'Game of Thrones', 'Chernobyl' is the new show taking disaster dramatics by storm, breaking records in every way possible. If you know about 'Chernobyl', you'll know it's a story that revolves around the true events that occurred in 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, and the lives of those who faced the consequences, post it. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant was situated North of Ukraine SSR, near a city called Pripyat and it surely was one of the most gruesome disasters to have occurred in the history of mankind, results of which are still quite prominent and visible. © HBO Right now, the show is on its way to becoming the highest-ranking television series, ever and IMBD ratings prove its way ahead of the highest-ranked fantasy drama's namely 'Game of Thrones'! Yes, something has finally beaten 'Game of Thrones' records and that's a first, for sure. The average rating for the show on IMDB is 9.6/10, which way ahead of 'Breaking Bad' and 'Game of Thrones', which have a rating of 9.4/10. But unfortunately, Russia doesn't agree about its popularity and clearly doesn't like how HBO has projected the happenings in the show and is going ahead with its own version of the show on Chernobyl. A Russian network is making a fictional story on Chernobyl, based on a conspiracy theory, that claims that a CIA agent was sent to the nuclear power plant to carry out the acts of damage. This is because the Russian media does not agree to the plotline and the character arcs that are prevalent in the show and they find it strange that an American TV channel (HBO) has told stories about the Russian heroes in their own way. Several other Russian media houses have criticised the show for showing instances based on America's own understanding and perspectives when the disaster occurred far away from them. © HBO The Russians also believe that the American channel is using the show to tarnish Russia's reputation as a nuclear power, through demonstrating facts that aren't true from the show. One of the local papers also said 'the show is a caricature and not the truth'. "One theory holds that Americans had infiltrated the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and many historians do not deny that, on the day of the explosion, an agent of the enemy's intelligence services was present at the station." states film director Alexei Muradov, to an international publication. © HBO With all these conspiracy theories flying about, the show is definitely going to be a lot more interesting and if you haven't watched it yet, its time you catch it, just to understand a bit of history. After all, weren't we all looking for something to replace 'Game of Thrones'? Even if this is a bit extreme as an alternative, it's definitely a must-watch!
  7. Professional Footballers Australia, the players union representing both the men's and women's national teams in Australia, have launched a campaign for equality in prize money at the men's and women's World Cup. This is said to be the first step in taking legal action against football's governing body FIFA over gender discrimination. The winning team of the Women's World Cup in France will receive $4 million as total prize money out of the total pool of $30 million. After winning the men's tournament in Russia last year, France received a sum of $38 million out of a total pool of $400 million. © Facebook/FranceFootball PFA Chief John Didulica released a statement regarding the matter saying the players are "victims of discrimination." In a letter addressed to the FIFA's Chief Officer for Women's Football, it was stated that "the PFA expressly reserves the rights of the players to have this matter resolved through appropriate means including mediation and arbitration." The PFA have even launched a website mentioning the in-depth details of the problem and the campaign, including a financial plan which states that the total pool of prize money for women should be $336 million as compared to $40 million. PFA have put all of their weight behind the campaign with all the players putting up videos and its logo on their social media handles. Gender Discrimination in Football became a huge talking point when the US Women's team sued the US federation on similar grounds in March. The movement is now being taken forward by the Australian players' union. © Reuters In fact, according to a recent report from Reuters, PFA have decided to implement a 33 percent hike in remuneration of players playing in Australia's W-League making the base hourly pay the same as the Men's A-League. PFA CEO Didulica revealed the decision with great pride and said that “it's a moment in time that the players should be proud of.” The point remains that the men in Australia's A-League will still be paid more, due to higher viewership resulting in greater commercial deals and longer hours on the field. This proves that viewership, which is essentially an external factor, is the big component that will result in the demise of institutional discrimination not just in football but in all other sports as well Although this might not be the endgame, this particular movement is necessary for two reasons- to leave no room for intentional discrimination in the sport; and to make people genuinely aware of the struggles of these women for equality. This movement is not only big for Women's football or the world of football, but also for the world of sport as it sets a precedent for equal pay and non-tolerance for gender discrimination in the industry and shows that this is not something we can stand for.
  8. Besides all the kickass software, Apple wowed everyone by unveiling a glorious new Mac Pro at the WWDC 2019 keynote. We've been waiting for a new Mac Pro since 2013 and Apple has packed this piece of hardware with high-end specs like a 28-core Intel Xeon processor and an Afterburner movie-editing graphics card. As good as it is from the inside, well, we sadly can't say the same for its exterior design. It features a boxy silver case with matching feet and handles. Alright fine, let's just admit it, the new Mac Pro looks like a cheese grater! Seriously, just like the mesh panel on the front and back. You can't unsee it now. And as always, Twitter was quick enough to welcome Apple's shiny new design with some freshly made memes. Here are a few of them that'll make you hungry for more cheese grater memes: Oh yes! 9. Viral internet challenges can be rather funny. The Tide pod challenge was essentially people popping tide pods like candy, which was a major health challenge ad the kiki challenge clearly caused more harm than good. But then there are also interesting challenges that make you discover something about yourself that you never knew before. A Twitter user recently discovered similar looking freckles on both her wrists and made a post about it asking fellow Twitter users if they have them too. This led to thousands of replies confirming the existence of similar looking freckles for these users. Here's how it started: ladies..... u got a freckle on the middle of ur wrist or is this a myth lmao pic.twitter.com/VpwkkeWKTj — aaryn â° (@aarynwhitley) May 22, 2019 and here are some responses that might shock you: ladies..... u got a freckle on the middle of ur wrist or is this a myth lmao pic.twitter.com/VpwkkeWKTj — aaryn â° (@aarynwhitley) May 22, 2019 While this internet challenge doesn't involve doing something freakish, it certainly led people into discovering freckles on their wrists that they had no clue about which in fact was very freakish. People were amused to see other people with similar looking freckles on their wrists. But like all internet challenges, this challenge too does not have a solid ground. You might discover freckles at the back of your wrists or you might not. Personally, I did not have freckles at the back of my wrists, however, fellow writer Kartik Iyer had a freckle each on both his hands. © Karthik Iyer © Karthik Iyer This only goes on to show that for some people, this challenge, in fact, holds true.
  10. Let's admit it, relationships can be pretty unpredictable. You may love and laugh one minute and all of a sudden find yourself in a heated argument over one of the most senseless subjects. Don't tell us it hasn't happened to you ever, because we won't believe it. But again, that's how any relationship is like, isn't it? It's just that the impact of the same is a lot more harsh when the argument or fight happens to occur in your romantic relationship. Heck, it becomes all the more difficult because we never know how best to patch-up after an argument with our partner. Now the key to this is communication, but that itself becomes such a start because we simply don't know how to initiate a conversation after a fight. But worry not, these foolproof ways of starting a conversation with your partner will not put you in a spot. 1. Text Her © Getty Images If you're too anxious about calling her, then drop her a text expressing how you feel or maybe ask them how they're feeling. That is sure to get you a response. 2. Call Her © Getty Images We always recommend calling over all else. Why? Because that's the easiest way of showing you care and also that you're thinking about them. If they pick up, that's half the problem solved right there. *Winks* 3. Seek A Middle-Ground © Getty Images That is until the argument/fight wasn't your fault. Because if it was, then there should be no hesitation in apologising for whatever you got wrong. 4. Forgive & Forget © Getty Images If it wasn't a great showdown or something major, consider the “raat gayi, baat gayi” route. No matter who is at fault, we suggest that (reasonable) forgiveness and moving beyond differences are the biggest requirements in a relationship. 5. Plan A Date & Ask Them Out © Getty Images Set up a date and then invite your partner to hang out with you. The fact that you wish to spend time with them even after the fight shows that you are making efforts and feel genuinely about reconciliations.
  11. India won the World Cup for the first time in 1983. It was a big moment for us and till date, Kapil Dev reminds us of the glorious days. Ranveer Singh's film '83 is based on the events surrounding the winning of the World Cup in 1983 and we couldn't be more excited. The unexpected victory in 1983 World Cup against West Indies was a major win for us back then. India hadn't hoped to bring the World Cup home this soon. Ranveer Singh with the '83 team are off to London for the film's shoot which is tentatively scheduled for three months. Ranveer takes special effort to get in the character for each film and for '83, he spent a couple of days at Kapil Dev's place to familiarise himself with the actual ongoings of 1983 World Cup. Directed by Kabir Khan, '83 will soon begin shooting. Keeping the team spirit alive, the cast reached the Mumbai airport on a team bus. Instagram is flooded with the reel team photos that makes us reminiscent of 1983 team. Take a look at the striking resemblance here. © Instagram 1. Look at the enthusiasm here. 12. 2019 has been one heck of a year for ByteDance, the operator of the popular video app TikTok. The app saw tremendous growth over the last few months and even got banned for a couple of weeks in India before getting back online. Now, if a new report is something to go by, then it looks like ByteDance is planning to launch its own smartphone too. Yes, you read that right, the TikTok owner is said to be working on a new smartphone to step into the hardware realm. © Reuters According to the Financial Times, two of their sources have reportedly confirmed that ByteDance is readying its own smartphone that will, of course, ship with ByteDance's app pre-installed. The fact the ByteDance's new phone will ship with its own app isn't all that surprising. In fact, that appears to be the primary reason behind the company's decision of making its own smartphone. One way of getting people to use your apps and services is by making phone makers pre-install the apps, so users can start using them out of the box. Well, TikTok being TikTok, it appears as though no phone makers are ready to pre-install it or even other ByteDance apps for that matter. © Reuters The report noted that ByteDance CEO Zhang Yiming has “long dreamt” of building a smartphone full of preloaded apps. And it's been confirmed that the company has even signed a deal with Smartisan earlier this year to start building the phone. There's still a lot that we don't know about this TikTok phone. We don't know what it would be called, what it'll look like, etc. But if ByteDance ends up making this phone, then it's guaranteed to come pre-installed with ByteDance's apps like TikTok, Lark, Feiliao, etc. Will it worth checking out? Well, if you're a TikTok fan, then maybe yes. But if not, then only time will tell how good or atrocious this phone will be.
  13. Samsung has been working hard at innovating smartphones and it seems like we may be seeing some new upgrades and a whole new mysterious smartphone. The world's leading Samsung insider has tipped that the South Korean company is working on a smartphone that is more “creative” than the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Note 10. The information comes from Ice Universe and it seems like the new smartphones are expected to launch sometime in the second half of 2019. “Believe me, the most creative Samsung smartphone in the second half of 2019 is not Fold or Note 10, you just have to wait, don't ask me more,” Ice Universe said on Twitter. Believe me, the most creative Samsung smartphone in the second half of 2019 is not Fold or Note10, you just have to wait, don't ask me more. — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) May 21, 2019 Samsung is expected to release smartphones with new designs that are expected to be radically different from what we are used to. The leaker has said previously that the Note 10 will probably have a “stable and mature” design whereas the A series smartphones are expected to have “radical innovation.” © Slashgear Samsung has already made a 5x optical zoom camera that is only 5mm thick and may be the rear camera for the Galaxy Note 10 or the mysterious new phone. Samsung is reportedly using a similar periscope method for its 5x zoom camera similar to Huawei's P30 Pro. © YouTube The Galaxy A series has been known to bring some innovation to its series as the latest Galaxy A80 has a pop-up rotating camera. It's a first for any Samsung smartphone to have a pop-up rotating camera and there's a good chance we may see something similar on a different smartphone later this year. The Galaxy A series was also the first Samsung smartphone to feature an Infinity-O display which was later seen on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. Another report suggests that Samsung may be making a button-less smartphone, however, we can't be entirely sure as of now. There's no clue as to what this secret Samsung phone will look like, however, if we do take Ice Universe's word, then it will definitely not be a part of the Galaxy Note 10. Source: Slashgear, BGR
  14. This article contains heavy spoilers. Proceed with caution. If you see Bran's character arc, it's risen tremendously from how he was portrayed in Season 1, till the most recent Season, where he's named king of the six realms. But if you think about it, his journey wasn't just another teenager who finds true meaning in life and becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven. He was very carefully orchestrating and plotting his own storyline, which in all probability, was highly overshadowed from the rest of us. © HBO When the gang of survivors were holding a discussion as to who the next king should be, everyone unanimously decided upon Bran. Tyrion, of course, gave his two cents on why Bran should be the ruler of the 7 kingdoms and with a common consensus, Bran was named king of the 6 kingdoms, giving Sansa complete autonomy to rule the North on her own. Right after he was appointed king, Tyrion asked Bran if he wanted it and Bran said: ''why do you think I've come all this way"? That statement might have been something we missed delving deeper into but come to think of it, it's a pretty loaded statement, which could tell us that Bran had been planning taking over the realm since the beginning! Or since he became the Three-Eyed-Raven, who actually wanted to lead and rule all, according to some theories. © HBO But, let's fish out some actual facts on why Bran could be the ultimate villain who was silently rooting for the throne, for himself. First off, Bran knows everything that has happened and will happen in the future. We're not sure how far he can see into the future but it's a sufficient amount to predict things that may happen and avoid the things that shouldn't. The very fact that he let most things happen, even though he could have stopped them is highly suspicious. For example, if he knew Euron was going to attack Daenerys' fleet, he could have asked her to change her strategy, but he didn't. He kept quiet until Dany lost one of her dragon's in Euron's attack. For someone who 'sees' everything, this seemed quite intentional. © HBO Next, let's look at the Night King's death. I agree that episode 3 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 was absolutely haywire, where nothing made sense. Not just the fact that almost everyone survived the army of the dead and that the Night King died, frivolously, after 7 Seasons of absolute build-up, also that his death seemed very inferior compared to how he was shown or talked about in the show. But, keeping that bit aside, Bran warged into the ravens during the war and we never really figured out what he was trying to do. They never showed the part where his warging helped out the war in any way possible. Popular fan theories suggest that Bran cooked up a deal with the Night King, which lured him towards Bran, and since Bran had given Arya the Valyrian Steel dagger earlier, he knew the NK's actual fate. There was no form of expression or relief on Bran's face when Arya killed the Night King. © HBO Also, if you think about it, Bran giving the Valyrian Steel dagger to Arya, which foreshadowed the Night King's death and telling Samwell, Arya and Sansa about Jon's true lineage and not letting out anything else, is a great tactic. This way, he made sure his claim to the throne was intact, getting rid of his enemies one by one. Arya killed the Night King with the dagger Bran gave her and everyone knew Jon was a Targaryen after Bran revealed it, which led to Dany losing her mind towards the end, and eventually dying for it. And that's how Bran got rid of two tough contenders, one by one. And while the two wars were taking place, Bran took a back seat and watched things unfold. Things he'd set in motion himself. Very clever Bran! How did the #NightKing change Craster's babies? By touching them. How did he change Viserion? By touching it. What did Bloodraven say to #BranStark in the cave? "He touched you."#foodforthought#nightking #GameofThrones — Vladimir Furdik (@Vladimir_furdik) 28 April 2019 Which is actually true. Even though Bran met the NK earlier through a vision, the NK had touched him and left his mark. Did Bran change post that and wished to take control over everything else and discovered his evil-dark side? The fifth episode of Season 8 also has an interesting fan theory. Dany had decided to withdraw if and when King's Landing rang the bells in surrender. But even after the bells were rung, she went Dracarys on the entire kingdom! Earlier, if you see Dany, while the bells are ringing, she is looking towards the Red Keep where Cersei is standing, making it seem like she's going to charge towards Cersei and kill her and destroy just the Red Keep. But she ends up destroying the entire city. Now, the theory states that Bran probably warged into Drogon, Dany's dragon, and burnt the city down to ashes. © HBO Not once did they show Dany's face when Drogon was spitting fire. Maybe he wasn't in her control and was doing whatever he wanted because his consciousness had been taken over by Bran. There's also a shot of Drogon's shadow over King's Landing when he's spewing fire and it's identical to the vision Bran had a few seasons ago, which could also amount to something. And if Drogon was spitting fire recklessly while Dany was confused about his actions, it could just mean that Dany, in all probability, wasn't the Mad Queen after all and that Bran is just pure evil! © HBO While all these are just theories, they do give us something to think about. How can someone, who sees the future and knows the past never strategise during a big war? How was he always quiet? Why was no one consulting him on what to do next? Why didn't anyone else consider Jon Snow, the true heir, for the throne? After an entire build up over his revelation of being a Targaryen and Bran's constant vision of Jon's birth at the Tower of Joy in Dorne, the throne eventually went to Bran. Isn't it quite strange? © HBO Well, I like to believe Bran played a great game and made everyone believe he is the rightful king, even though he is not and he knew it all along, especially when he uttered, "why do you think I've come all this way". Now, we aren't sure if he means he's come all this way from the North to be named king, or that he's always been plotting and planning for the throne, by being the Three-Eyed-Raven and has come all this way to take the throne. We'll never truly know! But let's see what George RR Martin has in store for us, through his upcoming books!

  16. Google announced a bunch of new hardware and new software updates for products last night at its annual I/OI event in San Francisco. The search engine giant announced the Pixel 3a, The Nest Hub and upcoming Android Q features. Having said that, hardware products are refreshed each year and Google announced something more important than any average person would expect. Google researched are working to train its already competent speech recognition system to understand people with speech impairments. It's a very basic thing nobody would have thought to explore via technology but Google is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to achieve this feat. It's called Project Euphoria and we got to see a preview of what it can possibly do to help people with speech impairments. © Google Having a family member who suffers from multiple sclerosis, Project Euphoria evoked an emotion that not many people can comprehend. Google is currently working with people who have neurological conditions including ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis so that AI can better understand speech patterns. Even though it's in very early stages, we got to see how Project Euphoria can transcribe speech better to help people with speak impairment communicate. © Google There are various ways for people to communicate, for example, transcribing is just one of the ways for someone to communicate. People can even use a keyboard to type out a response or even send commands via Google Assistant without ever speaking. This can be fired up with just a button that connects to Google Assistant. © Google In order to improve speech recognition and prediction, Google is asking everyone from around the world to submit voice samples. This data will be used to improve algorithms that are used by the speech recognition software. “Fundamental AI research which enables new products for people with disabilities is an important way we drive our mission forward,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai onstage. “This will ultimately result in products that work better for all of us. It's the perfect example of what we mean by building a more helpful Google for everyone.” Why Is Project Euphoria Important? © Google Well for the simple reason that it will make the world a more inclusive place. The ability for people suffering from speech impairment to communicate with family members, friends and other people with similar diseases has far more social implications than you can imagine. Disabled people will be able to communicate emotions like laughter, despair, happiness, and even anger that was not possible earlier. It will also benefit people with hearing impairments as they can simply read the transcribed text for communication. This in turn not only makes the lives of disabled people easier, making it more inclusive. It makes people with speech and hearing impairments get more familiar with emotions, feel less conscious about communicating in public and above all else, express feelings that disabled people couldn't do effectively before. To know more about Google's efforts and Project Euphoria, you can watch a short video below that will give you a better idea.
  17. Yesterday was one of the most memorable days for all the class XII students of the CBSE board. If you ask me, it was a 'Throwback Thursday' for half the people of this country, because once the results were declared, all of us wanted to 'throwback' our own marksheets in some box and bury it in a place where no can find it. THANK GOD, we are not a part of this crazy competition anymore. © Twitter But, first let's take this opportunity to congratulate Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora, who became the joint toppers of the CBSE class 12 exams by scoring 499 marks out of 500. 17-year-old Hansika Shukla, a Humanities student scored 100 in Political Science, Psychology, History and Hindustani Vocals, and 99 in English. If the fact that she scored 499 out 500 wasn't insane enough, her reasoning for losing one mark pretty much summed up the whole thing. © Twitter Blaming social media for distracting her, Hansika said, "If I would have concentrated more on studies, apart from whatever time I have wasted in doing online chat or playing games, I may not have missed a mark in English." It's still unbelievable that she just missed ONE mark. I was pretty happy with 70%, but today's kids are unhappy despite scoring 98% or 99%. © Twitter Hansika, who wants to pursue Psychology from DU and aims to become an IAS or IFS officer, further said, "There is no time limit and pressure to get success. I go through the books and school notes to prepare for the examination. 18. Does your natural body odour attract potential partners? Maybe. As ridiculous as this sounds, sometimes people are attracted to other people's distinctive odours. We know this probably sounds gross and inexplicable but here's the thing: there is a mysterious phenomenon that can sometimes attract you to your future mate by the way of their odour, and this has been a proven theory known as the body-odour attraction. Before you brush it off as rubbish and think that only people with funny armpit fetishes do this, then you are wrong. Like they show in the movie 'Friends With Benefits' when Justin Timberlake is making out with this girl and she tries to sniff out his armpit hair and the scene, in particular, is absolutely abhorrent. © Getty Images But that's not how it works. Clock back to the last time you were physically attracted to someone. Did you not exactly mind the way they smelt? And I don't mean the scent cover-up, their natural musk and even if it smelled like nothing at all or something so distinctive that you couldn't compare it to anything else and it's so intoxicating that you can't compare it to anything else. Animals secrete pheromones to attract their mates. This is a big part of their mating process. Humans, on the other hand, secrete pheromones, but it isn't clear how they exactly work. Lindsey Bordone, M.D., assistant professor of dermatology at Columbia University Medical Center. (Dermos are also well versed in hormones and endocrinology.) said that: “Humans don't have a functioning 'vomeronasal organ',” she further added, “which is what other animals use to detect pheromones secreted by another animal of the same species. Instead, we sense smells via the olfactory system. Perceivable smells likely do play a role in attraction, or lack of attraction, in people.” Bordone further clarifies which honestly makes sense, It's not the odor you're actually attracted to. You just don't mind it at all because you're attracted to the other person and the underlying scent. However, there's also a catch here. While you may be attracted to a person's underlying scent, that scent is not always their natural musk. It is an intricate combination of their body wash, shampoo, deodorant, fragrance, hair product, fabric-softener sheets, and other scented products used throughout everyday life. Which makes literally every scent out there super unique. In a study*, the female body odour was collected from different bodily fluids, at various times throughout their menstrual cycles. These odours were then ranked by the subjects' male partners. Body odours were found to be perceived as most pleasant smelling, and as longer-lasting, during their ovulatory phase which suggests that pheromones do have a major role to play in catalysing sexual attraction. © Getty Images But there are also other things that can heavily influence your SO's scent. Instant associations with the smell of their moisturizer or a particular flower like say lavender or jasmine that lingers when you kiss or an ingredient like cinnamon is likely. But it should help to know that products you use can majorly influence your BO. There are ways you can use your BO to your advantage. 1. Start With Basic Grooming © Getty Images Body odour could also smell rotten if you don't follow your basic grooming regime. Basically, taking a shower everyday, using an anti-antiperspirant on humid days, and grooming pubic hair. A basic routine can make a huge difference. This helps shape 80% of your BO. 2. Choose Products In Line With The Scent You Like © Getty Images For your scrub, body wash and cleansers, among other products, choose products with a scent that you wouldn't mind wearing yourself. For example, keeping an overarching common scent helps. You could choose from lavender, rose, jasmine or woody musks like redwood. 3. Keep Your Fabrics In Check In humid weather, stay away from synthetic fabrics like polyester. They will make you sweat faster and subsequently ruin your body odour. In some situations, no amount of cover-up perfume or deo helps after. * Kuukasjärvi S, Eriksson CJ, Koskela E, Mappes T, Nissinen K, Rantala MJ. 19. The idea of motorsports is just a cog in the wheel of India's mass opinion. We consider it a largely elitist hobby that is only affordable for a privileged few, despite being among the world's largest automobile manufacturers. Maybe that's why the country has barely contributed to the global motorsport scene, both in terms of producing world-class race drivers as well as racing technology. Part of the Mahindra & Mahindra automobile conglomerate, Mahindra Racing is out to change the latter, and eventually, influence the former. First things first; Mahindra Racing is the only Indian team (and one of the founder teams) in the Formula E Championship, a quickly growing class of international motorsport that uses only electric cars. It has already garnered a sixth of the total viewership of the Formula 1 around halfway into the fifth season of its existence. A total of 11 teams are contesting for the team championship with two drivers representing each outfit in the 2019 edition. Click here for Formula E rules, points system and more Mahindra Racing had finished on the podium (at third) a couple of seasons ago, followed by a close fourth last year. This season, they were at a healthy third as I arrived in Paris on the eve of the ePrix on Saturday. Jérôme d'Ambrosio of Belgium, who drives the #64 for MR led the driver's standings by one point. “The fundamental line that we use in Formula E is,” Mahindra Racing Team Principle Dilbagh Gill tells me on the sidelines of the race track, “you don't go to the race, the race comes to you.” Dilbagh has had a more than a decade-long journey with Mahindra and comes on the back of a colourful CV with various international projects. He speaks with fervour about being an international pioneer in this field and you might recognise him from passionate mid-race garage visuals. © Mahindra Racing Naysayers were sceptical about the no-sound 'disadvantage' of these cars, the 'slow' speed of the race and the feasibility, he tells me. But Formula E has come a long way with 11 teams in contention this season, with the likes of Porsche and Mercedes said to be joining in from 2020. “It (Formula E) has become a genuine form of racing. It's no longer like Formula 1. This season, the seven races have had seven winners from seven different teams. And you still don't know who will win the eighth one,” he says. “Second part is if you see any traditional forms of motorsport, only males used to watch it. That is also changing, where it is becoming more family oriented. When the father, who is into motorsports and he brings his kid, he is actually having a conversation during the race with him, because they can speak to each other with the loud sounds of the Formula 1.” As a result, the female demographic has warmed up to the idea. “In F1, 80 per cent of the audience is male and 20 per cent is female. Here, it's 52 per cent male and 40 per cent female and 8-10% kids.” The renaissance of EVs in the 21st Century (electric cars held several performance records over internal combustion engine cars but fell behind in performance during the first decade of the 20th century, notable electric-only racing series have shown an upward trend in both cars and bike circuits. Apart from Formula E, there are the likes of the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy, the World Rallycross Championship, the World Solar Challenge and the MotoE World Cup. In other racing events, electric vehicles are competing alongside combustion engine vehicles, for example in the Isle of Man TT and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and in some cases winning outright. In January 2017, a pure electric car participated in the Paris-Dakar Rally and completed the entire route of 9000 km through Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia. The vehicle had been specially designed and built for the race. The car had a 250 kW engine (340 hp) and a 150 kWh battery. The battery consisted of several modules. Each module could be charged separately by a power cable to speed up the charging process. The obvious question here is that how does this global electrification impact India? “To a large extent, the user is millennial, says Dilbagh, “They are now delaying the decision to buy the first car. An Uber can pick you up from anywhere at the press of a button, so what's more convenient can be sought. That's why they are delaying those decisions. They are also getting conscious about the mobility coming from the electric and the conversation about sustainability.” With Mahindra Racing, he believes, new electric mobility technology also reaches the end-user quicker. “The transition from race-to-road is much higher and faster. What you see in the car today literally can be in a car within 18 months. While in a conventional model, it takes six years. We say that 2030 (with reference to India's Mission 2030 of going electric-heavy) is far away, but it is just 11 years away and in the next 11 years, Mahindra Racing will have 15 alterations in developing a new car (one race technology every Formula E season).” But where does that take us in terms of motorsport in India? Barring the maiden edition of the Formula 1 that took place in the then-newly inaugurated Buddha International Circuit in Noida, India has stayed away from the global motorsport map. Of course, due credit has to be given to Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok, but the impact has been hot and cold. Racers have not really lined up to participate in competitions like Indian Formula Manipal DJS Racing Indian National Rally Championship JK Tyre National Racing Championship SPCE Racing 4ZE Racing. “We just need a little bit more clarification in terms of regulations in India, because a lot of other drivers in the championship are still fighting the tax problems, they couldn't drive in Formula One. There is no clear directive yet, as to where does motorsport fall in terms of taxation,” says Dilbagh. Mahindra Racing is now aspiring to further its long-term goals by escalating driver education in India. They want to use the data from the race track and find a way to reach out to public transport and truck drivers in the country for better efficiency. Electric is the way forward after all. “There is a huge shift from three peddled and now going two to one peddle drive. While we talk of passenger cars also, if we can take some of this data and put it in commercial vehicle, you can increase the range by 15-20 percent by just using a peddle inside. At the end of the day you get more mileage and money. Mileage to money there is direct correlation.” I came to Paris with very little knowledge about e-racing but by the end of the weekend, there has been so much to take away despite a bittersweet race day for Mahindra Racing (where Jerome crashed and the team was unlucky to not start the race at the pole position). The beauty of Formula E lies in the fact that the eight race of the season saw its eighth winner, from the eighth distinct country. If we can find a way to channel the passion of the drivers, the ambitions of the manufacturers and the will of the powers-to-be, there could still be hope of saving the environment in a manner that is both simple and modern. © Mahindra Racing © Mahindra Racing
  20. Voting is our fundamental right and like I said earlier, the entire nation's fate depends on the tiny mark of blue ink on your fingers. Be it commoners or actors, cricketers and politicians; everyone is busy exercising their right and urging other people to do the same. So is cricketer Virat Kohli. Instagram Virat Kohli, one of the finest batsmen in the world and RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) captain, is all set to cast his vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2019 and he announced the same on his Instagram on Sunday. Sharing his voter ID on Instagram story, Kohli wrote, "Ready to vote in Gurugram on the 12th May. Are you?" Instagram However, he deleted the stories, probably because his personal information was revealed in public. He later posted only the front side of his voter ID and blurred out the details. Voting in Delhi and Gurugram will be held on May 12. But, do you know what else is on May 12? The final match of IPL 2019 is in Hyderabad. Although, Virat Kohli's RCB is at the bottom in the point table, if they miraculously manage to enter the finals then Kohli will have a tough time travelling between the two cities. Instagram In other news, at least Kohli's goofy expression on his Voter ID card is making us feel less miserable about our Aadhar card pictures.

The new trends that follow are weird and strange challenges, which take over the social domain like a hot piece of chocolate. Some are rather dangerous and the rest just strange. We've been on the receiving end of a lot of challenges that have come and gone. From the Kiki challenge to the tide-pod challenge, everything has been tried and tested, even in India and now we have a new challenge doing the rounds, which can be dangerous but it's a quite senseless TBH. (c)Twitter The 'Shell On Challenge' is going viral right now and taking the internet by storm as we speak. 22. Remember the good old days when you used to make excuses just to avoid exams? Yes, they never used to work for the most part, but do you know what kids are ready to do these days to skip an exam? Take down the entire freaking wi-fi network. That's right, two 14-year-old high school students of Secuacus High School in New Jersey, USA, decided to go all in and bring down the entire Wi-Fi network of their school so students could not access the online curriculum. If only they had put so much effort into studying for the exam! © Unsplash After talking to other students at the school, the authorities found out that the duo was using a program or app to attack the school's network and cause it to crash or become too congested to be used by the others. NJ.com's report says, “Students interviewed Monday afternoon believe the boys used a Wi-Fi interrupter program, or an app, to send so much traffic to the routers that the system would crash, which ultimately caused connection failures when students tried to log on, do class work or take exams on their computers.” It has also been brought to notice that the duo was taking requests from friends to bring down the Wi-Fi. However, it is not entirely clear if they did it as a favor or they did it with intentions of making money. The Secaucus Police Department said both students were charged with computer criminal activity and conspiracy to commit computer criminal activity.
  23. Striking the perfect balance of casual and formal at work especially in the Summer can be difficult. Besides, at work, you don't want to make blunders especially when it comes to what you wear. So, here are some fashion mistakes that you might be making at work and probably should avoid: 1. Too Many Accessories © Getty Images Bold accessories and accent pieces are important to give an added flair to the outfit, but remember to not go overboard with trinkets. We recommend counting up all your accessories — patterned shirt, colourful tie, pocket square, cuff links, bracelets, rings, funky socks, etc. Too many accessories look rather too funky, especially in a professional setting. Limiting your ensemble to 3 or 4. The more restrained you are, the more your bolder accessories will shine. 2. Oversized Clothes © Getty Images Baggy clothes don't hide fat contrary to popular belief. Baggy clothes basically do nothing good for you. It's better to get rid of them. They look out of place in a professional setting. And baggy clothes will make you feel super hot in the Summer and you'll be sweating in no time. 3. A Visible Undershirt © Twitter Just like your boxers, the undershirt should never be visible. If you like leaving a couple of buttons undone, opt for a v-neck undershirt so that it stays hidden from sight. 4. Baggy Trousers © Getty Images Baggy trousers do two things well: they make you look shorter and they make you look sloppy. Also, they get ripped from the bottom easily. Try for trousers with a break at the ankle. 5. Undone Shirt Buttons © Getty Images Wearing a shirt buttoned up all the way can look odd without a tie, however, an unbuttoned shirt with more than buttons looks sleazy and unprofessional. 6. Satin Shirt © Getty Images Wearing satin shirts is like inviting a fashion disaster in the Summer. Not only are you going to sweat profusely but you'll also stink and the worst part is that it'll all be visible, because satin shows.
  24. It takes more than mere skills to face the camera and enact a scene based on a narration and some lines peeking at you from between the white sheets of paper dabbed in black ink. It takes more than a few years of training at a film school, or the sweat and tears you expend backstage for every play that's presented in the theatres. There is a lot more that goes into the making of an actor. The talent and skills are but mere prerequisites in this line of work. So even before the cameras start rolling and the call to action is barked, it is an actor's struggles, continuous reinvention and unceasing passion for the craft that makes an actor, one who is worthy of spending our precious three hours over. © Instagram Irrfan Khan undoubtedly tops the list when it comes to actors who are worth every single 'paisa' of our money, and every minute of our time that we spend watching him spill his magic on-screen. Irrfan's journey in the Hindi film industry is a psychedelic, riveting montage of the many characters he portrayed to perfection throughout an acting career spans over 30 long years! From a meager role of a letter writer in Mira Nair's 'Salaam Bombay!' in 1988, to playing a jilted husband with a streak of wickedness about him Abhinay Deo's 'Blackmail' (2018), Irrfan's journey in Bollywood has almost all the shades of the colour (read acting) palette to his credit. © Instagram The big guns of the industry lost a bit of their sheen against the glory of this actor who persistently worked his way up the ladder. From often being a comic relief or kept at the sidelines as a prop to the larger storyline, he made his own path with titles such as 'Haasil', 'Maqbool', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' under his belt. However, it would be the 2012 release 'Paan Singh Tomar' that would finally bring Irrfan Khan his due in the Bollywood industry. Every actor and directed stopped and took notice of the actor who brought soldier-turned-bandit Paan Singh Tomar to life on the silver screen. © Instagram Soon enough people fell in love with this ruggedly handsome man, raw around the edges and bearing a sheepish smile, who was running his own race. The dark horse was finally here, and people simply couldn't get enough of the underdog making it to the “elite” category. 'The Lunchbox' was another massive win for the terrific actor, followed by marvels such as 'Qissa', 'Piku' 'Talvar', 'Madaari', 'Hindi Medium', and 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' that allowed us to witness and appreciate the actor who was changing the face of Hindi cinema one film at a time. © Instagram The wheels of fortune turned for Irrfan and this time it was not just Bollywood, but Hollywood too that wanted more of him on-screen. Hollywood had found the modern day actor for all things Indian. However, the roles Irrfan was being offered were not average, with limited screen presence like his predecessors. Irrfan bagged diverse, meaty roles in big Hollywood films such as 'The Warrior', 'Namesake', 'Jurassic World' 'Life of Pi' and 'The Inferno'. Now they say, with all the good comes a little of the bad, and the same came true for Irrfan. Last year in March, Irrfan announced that he had been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and left for London soon after to undergo treatment for his condition. © Instagram All through his treatment the actor kept his fans and well-wishers updated about his condition and the progress he had made with the treatment. The past year was also the time when Irrfan had the time to introspect and come to terms with the bigger truth of life. Irrfan not only accepted the vulnerability of human life, but he was also vocal about the fact that at the end of the day we are nothing but human beings on this journey called life. © Instagram After a length of a long, arduous year, the 'Karwaan' actor officially announced that he is back in the game after kicking cancer to the curb - stronger than ever, and grateful for a second chance at life. He took to Twitter and shared that, “Maybe somewhere in the pursuit of winning, we forget how much it means to be loved. In our vulnerability, we are reminded. As I leave my footprints onto these steps of my life, I want to pause to be grateful for receiving your immense love and support, it soothed me in my process of healing. So I travel back to you, thanking you from the bottom of my heart.” © Instagram The picture that accompanied this post warmed our hearts, and we are equally thankful to get one of our best back. All of us are looking for his next film to hit the screens ASAP, and for now it seems there won't be a long wait. Irrfan's journey is proof that once a winner, always a winner.
  25. Marvel is honestly just weird. For months, there was nothing, literally nothing, not even a name for the movie, but now they just keep bombarding us with so many things related to 'Avengers: Endgame' without giving us time to emotionally deal with it. The newest teaser trailer dropped showing all kinds of reunions and everyone was just like 'this is not a drill, it's happening' when we saw Tony Stark and Steve Rogers reuniting and shaking hands. They haven't seen each other since 'Captain America: Civil War' and finally got a reunion that they deserve. It sucks because of that giant purple grape but at least it happened. This particular one-minute teaser was the most impactful, at least for me, just because it had so much happening. Every second was like a very important detail that will be a crucial part of the movie. So obviously it makes sense that people still haven't been able to deal with it and are still very emotional.
