  1. It's hard to remember the moment when the words following jana gana mana… became second nature to me. Was it the preparatory school teacher who worked her magic and helped me commit the entire composition to memory when I couldn't even remember all the letters in my full name? Or was it even earlier than that, when Ma would sing it aloud at home and urge me to repeat the song of the nation after her? © BBC For most of us, recollecting the exact moment when our mind gave way to the national anthem verbatim, is a rather difficult one. But you see, that's how it's been. It was the mind that caught onto the words, while the heart was kept out of the loop from the start. We know our rashtriya gaan by heart, but is our heart in it? © Twitter Today, nobody needs to be told twice that we ought to stand up for the national anthem, that there are proper times and places for one to play/sing it, that the national anthem demands a certain kind of respect and that most people expect fellow Indians to show that respect, especially when in public. The national anthem is a big deal and here's why. A national anthem is the song of the people. Often soaked in patriotic fervour, the anthem is representative of a country's history, culture, tradition, and beliefs. Therefore, it becomes an emblem of national identity and is held dear by citizens and the government alike. © Rediff The national anthem is so powerful that it can bring an entire nation together with one song, reminding them of their country's glory and heritage. The anthem is used to evoke pride and feelings of belongingness and unity when sung by one and all, regardless of their caste, creed or gender. But there is more. © YouTube What makes India and our national anthem all the more invaluable is the fact that the subcontinent is known for its diversity; be it ethnic, religious, linguistic or even cultural. For ages, India has shown the world how a hundred contradictions can exist peacefully together, living and building a greater nation in harmony. India's national anthem literally spells it all out. Here is what our national anthem means, literally. You are the ruler of the minds of all people, Dispenser of India's destiny. Your name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat and Maratha, Of the Dravida and Odisha and Bengal; It echoes in the hills of Vindhya and the Himalayas, Mingles in the music of Ganga and Yamuna and is chanted by The waves of the Indian sea. They pray for your blessings and sing your praise. The saving of all people waits in your hand, You are the dispenser of India's destiny. Victory, victory, victory to you. It's a hymn to India, the pride and joy of every individual who lives on its land, breathes its free air and collectively works to bring more glory to its name. There is no distinction between those who call India their motherland, their homeland, their home. © Twitter Perhaps understanding the true essence of our anthem will remind us to put all else beyond our limited scope of worldview and come together to celebrate our country's greatest strength - we are all for this country, this country is for us all. 2. If there's one thing that we can't stop admiring of late, it is Varun Dhawan's badass looks that he is sporting for every Street Dancer 3D promotion. He is experimenting with super playful ensembles and every time he wears something OTT, he instantly has our attention. © Viral Bhayani Since his upcoming movie is based on the multifarious colours of dance, even his recent appearance resembled the same. He is truly unrecognisable with the Roman hairstyle and electric blue ensemble. Even though the look instantly took us back to the 80s, his boots, however, are so Dhinchak that it made our jaws drop! © Viral Bhayani Varun is wearing boots by Nomenklatura Studio. This style is from runway Spring/Summer 2020 which was inspired by the films Scarface and Penelope Spheeris' The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. © Hypebeast The collection showcases an array of pieces in both traditional and daring silhouettes. The Gangster aesthetics have been interpreted on this pair and has been inspired by 80's Glam Rock. © Viral Bhayani Speaking of Varun's outfit, he turned heads with his electric blue leather jacket with a printed shirt and black pants. The combination with its contemporary colours, extravagant fabric and silhouette makes it quite unconventional and totally a worthy look for Varun's upcoming movie, Street Dancer 3D. © Viral Bhayani All in all, we love his attempt to bring back the disco days and this is what we call, Dhinchak. Keep it up, Varun! View the full article

  4. Ask anyone what their dream car is and no one will tell you names like Alto or Swift Dzire or Honda City. They will say they are crazy about a Porche or a Lamborghini. But, let's accept it, cars like Lamborghini aren't cheap! Unless, you're a supremely rich guy or have won Kaun Banega Crorepati and decided to use it all to buy a car that's close to Rs 5 crore. In short, it's way beyond the league for an average person working 9 to 5. Now imagine someday the makers of Lamborghini decide to send you one of their expensive car models just like that! We all know something like this will not happen to us. But, it happened with Sterling Backus and his son Xander. Remember that father and son duo from Colorado who went viral on social media for building a Lamborghini Aventador from scratch, using 3D printers and genuine parts? © YouTube Lamborghini Looks like their dedication and sincerity left such a deep impact on the makers of Lamborghini that they, reportedly, sent them a real Aventador model. Actually, they have lent the car to the father-son duo for two weeks. 54-year-old Sterling who is a Physicist and his 12-year-old son have been working on replicating the model since the past two years. They got inspired to build the supercar from scratch when they were playing a racing simulation game Forza Horizon 3. Recently, he revealed he got a call from the chief marketing officer of Automobili Lamborghini saying that they want to make a commercial with his family and that they will loan him the car for two weeks. "I was shaking in my boots since, it was like getting a call from the Pope and he is coming to dinner. Of course, a metaphor, but just to give (you) the idea of the gravity to me, personally," he told CNN. Their plan was to swap the project car with a real model so they could surprise Xander who has been working so hard with his father to build the replica. It won't be wrong to say Lamborghini played their not-so-secret Santa as they got the car right before Christmas and got to drive in a real Lamborghini for a few days. View the full article
  5. Miley Cyrus, Cody Simpson making music together ‘since first date’Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson never fail to keep the rumour mills turning with their tumultuous romance. And while many may have second-guessed their love for each other, the two are once again proving that their connection is anything but toxic. The two are now said to be taking the next step as they gear up to make new music together and blowing the world with not just their PDA-filled posts but also their melodic vocals. A grapevine let the cat out of the bag regarding their plans to get back in the world of music, as they told HollywoodLife: “Miley and Cody are such a good fit, they have so much in common from their basic values, to their circle of friends and most of all they have their shared passion for music.” “Right from their first date they have been making music together,” the source said. The insider further revealed that the Aussie hunk is continuously writing more songs and has even motivated and inspired the Wrecking Ball singer to get back into songwriting. “That is huge because it’s almost like speaking another language, it connects them on a deep level. When they’re together with her family everyone gets in on it and they all play together. Music is life for both of them so it makes total sense that they want to put out music together, it’s just natural,” the source disclosed. Earlier, Cody had even dropped hints of the two sharing an endearing connection over music as he wrote a song taking inspiration from Miley at the Tiffany & Co. men’s event held in earlier in September. “I wrote her a song this week and she’s pretty much forcing me to put it out. She’s like, ‘If you don’t put this [expletive] out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this [expletive] myself.’ I was like, alright, I’ll do it,” he had told the publication.

  7. If you're someone who has done their homework when it comes to Winter skincare, that's great. However, there are certain commonly-believed-to-be-true myths out there that can actually do more harm than good. So while taking care of your skin is great, one shouldn't expose the skin to products/habits that can, in fact, reverse the good. These include: 1. Using Lotion Or Body Cream © Getty Images Using body cream or worse lotion on your face will do a terrible job on your face. The old runny consistency of these products isn't going to cut it anymore. These products aren't meant for your face. Make sure you're using a face cream, not a lotion. If you've been using a product at night, double it up and make it twice a day and use it both in the morning as well as at night. 2. You're Moisturising At The Wrong Time © Getty Images It makes a huge difference to moisturise immediately after bathing than not applying moisturiser at all or applying it long after the shower. A good idea is to stash your face moisturiser in your shower so you can apply it directly to damp skin before you step out of the washroom. 3. Using The Wrong Cleanser © Getty Images Avoid soaps that have an alkaline pH that can inflame the skin, as this further prevents hydration. Instead, use hydrating skin cleansers that are gentler on the skin barrier and leave the skin soft and moisturised later. 4. Your Moisturiser Has A Missing Ingredient © Getty Images One could be using moisturisers with the wrong ingredients without knowing. Look for skin-repairing ceramides, which fill in the cracks between skin cells and help the skin heal itself. The key is to always look for products with skin-soothing ceramides and glycerin. 8. Prologue! That's the name of the project which the mastermind behind PUBG has been working on. No, it's not PUBG 2. Brendan, the creator of PUBG, has specifically mentioned that it's not PUBG 2. In fact, it's not even a shooter game, so it's the farthest thing from PUBG that you can imagine. Brendan Greene, better known as "PlayerUnknown" has been working on a new project for a long time now. He moved to a new place, away from PUBG's studio to build a team of his own. He's been sharing a few updates occasionally on Instagram and Twitter. However, this is the first time he's ever talked about this new project. We have our very first look at the game in the form of a teaser. Here, take a look. As you can see, the teaser itself doesn't tell us anything about the game and it's only 30 seconds long. But the video does have a visual fidelity that sets it apart from PUBG. The graphics look photorealistic and does a phenomenal job of recreating the rainy forest scene. The scene then takes on a first-person POV, in which the protagonist nervously scans the surrounding area as we hear dog barks and growls getting closer. In the end, there's a website link that you can access and sign up to get notified when more info drops. WELL, HELLO THERE... https://t.co/yZxaoe8gla — PLAYERUNKNOWN (@PLAYERUNKNOWN) December 13, 2019 Although the teaser doesn't tell us anything about the game, we're super excited to check it out. It's giving us all kinds of chills already, so we can only imagine what the game will look like once it's finished. View the full article
  9. Let's admit that almost everyone has or had one teacher they were biased towards and always looked up to. That teacher was the coolest human being they ever came across. However, that coolness was never related to Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics. Honestly, I can never imagine a Maths or Physics teacher without a grumpy face. They always looked angry or upset wth something or someone. But, Professor David Wright is different and way cooler than people half his age. At 71, this man is jumping on pogo sticks, running around his classroom, making ice-cream for his class, playing with makeshift skate boards and more, just to make his students enjoy the class instead of being bored from all the lectures. Besides that, if there's one more fact that can easily give other B-town stars a run for their money, then it has to be his fashion game. He is seen strutting in outfits that make him look a million bucks. Check it out: © Viral Bhayani © Sneaker Bar Detroit Anil Kapoor keeps himself abreast of the latest trends and these sneakers are a proof of that. He is seen wearing Air Jordan 1 All-Star 'Chameleon' sneakers. The sneakers are decked in white, black, silver and green tones. This Air Jordan has an iridescent approach and that's why it's called 'Chameleon' as it changes colour. Furthermore, these sneakers have black overlays on the toe as well as the inner liner. © Sneaker Bar Detroit © Sneaker Bar Detroit Not just Anil Kapoor, but many other elite Bollywood stars have experimented with their Jordans. Abhishek Bachchan, for example, wore his pair of sneakers with two different laces while Arjun Kapoor chose to keep his Jordans fearless. © Viral Bhayani These Retro sneakers released in 2017 and they retail at $175 as per Sneaker News. Anil Kapoor looks striking wearing this pair and we have to say he made a Jhakaas statement in it. As for his outfit, he wore a plaid shirt and coupled it with black pants. The casual vibe of this whole outfit looked even more elevated with his iridescent sneakers. Take a bow, sir! View the full article
  11. This December, people are not saying goodbye to the year, but the entire freaking decade. The 2010s are ending and it's making everyone look back and reflect how much everyone and everything has changed in these last ten years. That's why it's not surprising that the biggest trend on Twitter right now is a comparison between people in 2010 to people now, basically a beginning of the decade vs end of the decade moment. Actually seeing how so many celebrities changed so much in this decade is kind of weird and also very nostalgic, in a way. It's been a long, long decade and everything is so different now. Oh no, this one is emotional. tony & pepper tony & pepper at the start at the end of of the decade the decade pic.twitter.com/l4vkq8P1kI — â¨Maria⨠(@quackzonqueen) December 5, 2019 Balancing it out. tony and natasha start of end of the decade the decade pic.twitter.com/yiqZKGhC9z — ððð¦ð¢ð¥ð â (@romanoffcamz) December 2, 2019 Getting the Marvel stuff out of the way. the avengers the avengers at the start at the end of the decade of the decade pic.twitter.com/FLPkKHKNn9 — â¨Maria⨠(@quackzonqueen) December 2, 2019 Queen of the North! sansa stark beginning of the end of the decade decade pic.twitter.com/fvXhJYy6fL — beyza! ð (@sansasflorian) December 2, 2019 Fangirl moment? 12. How many of us remember the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi or can name even one song sung by him? While most of us might have heard about him, it's kind of impossible to imagine the younger generation singing his songs, unless someone made a remix out of it. However, there are people staying miles away from India, who not only know about him but are also singing his song like a pro. The people we're talking about are a bunch of young Russian military cadets, who have left quite an impression on the internet by singing 'Aye Watan Aye Watan Humko Teri Kasam'. *Russian Military Cadets Singing Ae Watan...* *Sent by Brigadier Pushkar (also seen in the video)!!*#IndianArmy #RussianArmy pic.twitter.com/PITl3eM6qk — Lt Col N Thiagarajan (@NThiagarajan4) November 29, 2019 In the video that's now going viral, the cadets can be heard singing Mohammed Rafi's famous patriotic song from the 1965 movie Shaheed based on the life of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. 13. Dressing up the right way may not be your strongest point but fashion blunders are a thing and if you have been committing any of them, believe us, you are constantly being looked at. Unlike socks with sandals or semi-formal outfit mistakes, there are others that are less obvious and yet they get noticed. It's time you stop making fashion crimes. Check out this list that will give you clarity on rookie mistakes and help you dress better for all the upcoming occasions. 1. White Athletic Socks © istock If you have been wearing your athletic socks, well and good. But the plan to wear them with your classic Derby or dress shoes? That's exactly where you lost your brownie point. Keep athletic socks aside for gym hours and pick up classic black or brown socks that dovetail well with all your shoes. If you have a knack for OTT, go for quirky socks. 2. Fake Branding © istock Sorry to say this but if high-end brands are not affordable, don't buy it from any random brand. You are genuinely wasting your precious money. Buy it on the basis of how it looks and feels instead of the brand name emblazoned on it. 3. Baggy Dress Shirt © istock The ultimate mistake that men hardly care about has been wearing an ill-fitted dress shirt. But, let us tell you that a baggy shirt can make you look stumpier and definitely not good. You need to make sure that the collar is stiff and the shoulder seams sum exactly at the end of the shoulder. Take this trick into consideration so you never get raised eyebrows by your boss at work. 4. Visible Undershirt © istock The undershirt is called undershirt for a reason. It shouldn't be visible once you have your shirt on it. If you wish to leave a few buttons undone, go for a V neck undershirt. No peek-a-boo in such cases is acceptable! 5. Buying Clothes For Future Purposes © istock The biggest mistake of all times is assuming to buy clothes based on what you will wear next year. Staying motivated to gain/lose weight is a good thing but buying clothes that you don't even know would fit or not is sheer mental torture. Reward yourself when you have ticked off your goals and not right now. 6. Wearing Large Pocket Jeans © istock Firstly, this trend is not meant for men to wear. The big size pockets were made for a reason to fit the criteria of blue-collared workers. Wearing pants with large pockets can make you look sloppy and you don't want to garner unnecessary attention. Stick to chinos or straight jeans. They are your best bet to look fashionable. 7. Jewellery For Men © istock The ideal way to pull together a perfect look is that you stick to two items maximum in your clothing. Going OTT with accessories can end up in a disaster. Avoid that and stick to minimal aesthetics. View the full article
  14. When the biopic on celebrated actress and a beloved politician Jayalalithaa was announced, people had super high hopes from Kangana Ranaut being roped in to play the lead. Bollywood's 'Queen' can do justice to any role you give her and hence, when the teaser released last night, everyone was pretty much excited. One shouldn't judge a book by its cover, right? However, one minute and 32 seconds of sneak peek at Thalaivi had the fans convinced that the whole garb is not as realistic as they expected. 16. It would be fair to assume that almost all of us grew up watching Scooby-Doo and well, we're all about to get very very nostalgic. The first trailer for Scoob! is here and it was the entire gang as adorable little babies. While the entire trailer is there to make us feel nostalgic, the best part is how Scooby-Doo and Shaggy actually met and became BFFs. Fun fact: Scooby-Doo was named after the Scooby snacks. It also shows teenaged Shaggy and his best buddy trick-or-treating and meeting Fred, Daphne and Velma, completing the gang. All of them are back to do what they do best - solve mysteries. Moreover, the movie has brought together some great actors to voice these iconic characters. From Zac Efron to Amanda Seyfried to Gina Rodrigez to even Mark Wahlberg, there are very diverse and brilliant actors lending their voices to the main characters. Here's the trailer: While some people have a few issues with Scoob!, people are mostly very excited about it and can't wait to relive their childhood. scooby doo will forever be the classic, hell yeah my 18 year old ass will go to the cinema and watch this #SCOOB pic.twitter.com/FV0jI5WCaF — yaffa (@aweyaffa) November 11, 2019 Yep, they look like twins. 17. If there's one thing that has been constant about Aamir Khan, it is that he does total justice to the character he plays on-screen. Not just that, he is also a good player when it comes to his sartorial choices and he decks up in classic silhouettes, making a head-turning statement, every damn time. Aamir Khan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha with his co-star, Kareena Kapoor Khan in Chandigarh. Even though the movie has been set to release in 2020, the still from the movie has been leaked and all the fans are going berserk over it. Take a look here: © Manav Manglani Aamir here is making a statement in his long, thick beard. Furthermore, the lilac Pagdi adds an oomph factor to his look. But, did you notice his outfit? We love the 'uncle Ji' vibe here as he is seen sporting a checked shirt and high waisted pants. Isn't this the exact way our dads would wear their ensemble? We think so too. © Manav Manglani Not just that, his fans are applauding him all over the internet and cannot believe that he could nail this look with absolute panache. His authentic transformation for the movie is quite evident in this picture. If you are wondering what Laal Singh Chaddha is about, it's a remake of a Hollywood movie, Forrest Gump. The first teaser of the movie showed a feather in the sky, just the way the Hollywood version was portrayed in '94. All in all, we are totally diggin' his recent revamp. Take a bow, Mr Perfectionist! 19. The PlayStation 5 may use cartridges. Well, it's either that or we think Sony is working on a Nintendo Switch competitor that'll use cartridges. Why? Because Sony has filed a new patent at the Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial (INPI) in Brazil for 'PlayStation Cartridge'. As spotted by the Dutch website LetsGoDigital, the patented design of the cartridge was realised by Yujin Morisawa, the Senior Art Director of Corporate Design at Sony Interactive Entertainment. From the looks of it, it looks like a simple cartridge, so we can't exactly tell what could it be for. © LetsGoDigital Unless Sony decided to have a change of heart about a PlayStation Vita successor, we don't seem to have an answer for this cartridge. We say that because we already know the PlayStation 5 will use Blu-ray discs. And if it's not a PlayStation Vita successor, then could it be a hybrid console/ handheld device like the Nintendo Switch? A few people also noted that the patented cartridges could be for Sony's Toio line of kid's toys. Back in 2018, Sony filed a similar cartridge patent resulting in rampant speculation, but it turned to be Sony's line of kids' toys. So this could very well be one of those patents and we may be freaking out for no reason. © LetsGoDigital It's also entirely possible that the game cartridge is for the PlayStation line of hardware, maybe PlayStation VR 2. Or it could be used by the PS5 itself as expandable memory. Who knows? The best we can do right now is speculate and wait for some sort of an official announcement. 20. Ahead of the third and final T20I match between India and the visiting Bangladesh team, Rishabh Pant is once again in the news. It was not because of his mess-up during the second game but because of what the stand-in captain, Rohit Sharma said about him during a press conference ahead of the deciding final game. "You know there is a lot of talk happening about Rishabh Pant every day, every minute. I just feel that he needs to be allowed to do what he wants to do on the field. I would request everyone to keep their eyes away from Rishabh Pant for a while,” said the skipper. 'I think it's not fair' India captain Rohit Sharma has asked everyone to give Rishabh Pant a break from the constant scrutinyhttps://t.co/6gKMie6EIt — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) November 9, 2019 "He is a fearless cricketer and we (team management) want him to have that freedom. And if you guys take your eyes off him for sometime, it will allow him to perform even better," added Rohit. The team veteran wants the best for the 22-year-old wicket-keeper, however, simply talking about him makes Pant's name come online and gives social media another excuse to “troll” him and this in turn may be making Pant's life more difficult as an international cricketer. The thing about the criticism from fans of the game and the so called “pundits” is that they often compare the young and upcoming athletes to the best and greatest players of all time, while they were in their prime. Pant can never reach near dhoni. He is just wanna be who try to immitate the dhoni style. — Nobie (@newbie_6) November 7, 2019 Unrealistic expectations is the primary outcome of such comparisons which often leads to further criticism if the said athlete fails to do good in the next match. According to a 2008 report by The Sport Journal, it is clarified how adversely can distractions and criticism drain an athlete's mental energy, causing him to get anxious, depressed and lose focus during the crucial moments of a game. Rishabh Pant is a good player. We have seen in the past, the kind of performance the cricketer can put up both in front of, and behind the stumps. In September 2019, Pant went on to surpass his predecessor, MS Dhoni in dismissing 50 batsmen from behind the wicket in Test cricket in the least amount of time (Dhoni: 15 Tests, Pant: 11 Tests). The southpaw is also the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a century in England and Australia, including his maiden international ton at The Oval and overtaking Farokh Engineer's record of the most number of runs scored by an Indian keeper Down Under. “"He is a young guy, 22, trying to make his mark in international cricket. Every move he makes on the field, people start talking about him. It is not fair. I think we should allow him to play his cricket which actually he also wants to do," Sharma during the conference. Maybe it's for the best that the skipper says nothing when it comes to Rishabh Pant. After all, no comments make no news. View the full article
  21. What comes to your mind when you think about the gorgeous southern state of Kerala? Is it the lush greenery that dominates the landscape, the enchanting backwaters, the lure of fresh spices that tickles the nose or the seafood that makes your mouth water? That's not even half of what Kerala has to offer, and yet we're so pleased with every little slice of 'God's own country' that we can get our hands on. © Flickr/Anup Balakrishnan But Kerala doesn't stop there. Even with the knowledge that it has a lot going for itself, Kerala constantly strives to outdo itself and set higher benchmarks for other Indian states to match. Kerala has numerous good deeds to its credit, which has helped the state to set examples for the rest of the country. Check out these 9 super-proud ways that Kerala is leading the country towards the real 'New India'. 1. Internet As A Basic Human Right © Twitter/Chief_tribal The Kerala government is not only the first to declare internet as a basic human right, but has also promised to provide 20 lakh poor families in the state with high-speed internet connection free of cost! 2. First Indian State To Introduce Transgender Policy After Supreme Court's decision to officially recognise a 'thrid ***' in 2014, Kerala became the first Indian state to come out with the State Policy for Transgenders in Kerala in 2015. The policy recognises the right of the transgender community to identify as the 'third gender' and seeks to promote equality for transgenders in the mainstream society. 3. Kerala's Free Ambulance Service © Twitter/YsakVK The state has its very own emergency ambulance service network called 'Kanivu 108' which has been launched by the state government under the comprehensive trauma care and management scheme. The idea is to rescue and take accident victims to trauma centres within the 'golden hour' and save as many lives as possible. 4. First Digital State In India Back in 2016, the then President of India, Pranab Mukherjee declared Kerala as the first 'Digital State of India' after it achieved 100 percent mobile connectivity throughout the state, as well as 75 percent internet literacy. 5. First State With 100 Percent Primary Education © Twitter/IANS In January 2016, the then Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari declared 100 percent primary education status achieved by Kerala. The success came due to the primary education equivalency drive of the state's literacy mission called 'Athulyam' which was a mega success. 6. First State To Introduce Water Metro Kerala has officially levelled up by becoming the first Indian state to introduce water metro for its people. The Kochi Water Metro is a state government initiated integrated water transport project under Kochi Metro Rail. The water metro will be launched in Greater Kochi region and also serve as a feeder service to Kochi Metro. 7. First Transgender School © Twitter/UNAIDS_AP In December 2016, Kochi opened the gates for Kerala's first school for transgenders called Sahaj International. The alternative learning centre works with National Institute of Open Schooling, and aims to help transgender school-dropouts to complete their secondary and higher secondary education. 8. Set To Become First State With 100 Percent Hi-Tech Schools In June earlier this year, the Kerala Education Minister Professor C Ravindranath announced that Kerala is all set to become the first Indian state with 100 percent hi-tech schools. As many as 20.86 lakh school children from 9,941 state-run schools are set to benefit from this initiative which is estimated to cost Rs 204.90 crore. 9. State With Highest Human Development Index In India © Twitter/IANS As of 2017, Kerala holds the bragging rights to being Indian state with the highest Human Development Index in India, year after year. 23. What's the main purpose of a signboard, particularly the ones written in different languages and English? To guide people and help them figure their way out and to clear any confusion. At least that's what most signboards across the world ideally do, except the ones in India. Here, you need to think twice before trusting your eyes each time you see a signboard and in case you're at the Chennai Airport, you need to be careful about your taste buds too. Why, you ask? Well, because actress Shabana Azmi just came across a signboard at the airport that warned people not to eat the carpet. © instagram shabana azmi Wait! Was eating carpet a thing? Why did nobody tell us? FYI, it's an old picture taken in 2015, depicting hilarious sign board fails where the message got lost in translation. 24. Diwali is over and so is our reason to officially take any leaves in the name of festivals until Christmas; but what's left with all of us is a thick layer of smog and 'hazardous' air that we'll have to breathe on our way to work from now on. Well, thanks to the air quality, at least we can now apply for sick leaves. According to the reports and surveys, Delhi's overall air quality index (AQI) was at 506, a day after Diwali. In the early hours, the AQI reached 999. So, unless you're really terrible in Mathematics, you can calculate how toxic the air has become for us. © Reuters When some people were busy bursting firecrackers and doing their bit to contribute to the already high air pollution in Delhi, there were some who were doing what they are good at - making hilarious memes on air quality.
