This year you must stay, you deserve it.

When you think things go wrong

There is always someone who will give you a hand.

Where are you going tonight?

Where are you going tonight?

Some day we'll go back there, our secret place.

Do you remember those moments?

Do you remember those moments?

This is going to get sweet!

I really feel younger.

I really feel younger.

Maybe I'll give it a little taste.

Oh pretty mama, you're the best!

Oh pretty mama, you're the best!

I do not think I'll ever forget it, thanks.

  1. Millennial. The noun has somehow crept in to become a middle name of sorts, at least for those of us who walked the face of this earth between the early 1980s to late 90s, for the very first time. We are the generation that stood witness to the antics of Swami and his friends in 'Malgudi Days', the generation that was thrilled to witness the marvellously entertaining dance performances on 'Boogie Woogie' and kept its eyes glued to the TV screens when 'Hum Paanch' aired on Zee TV, only to break into peals of laughter after every other punchline. Those were the simpler times, made up of carefree days when the thoughts of playtime and games dominated most of our days, and the only responsibilities we were expected to shoulder, were to remember the math formulae and the rules of English grammar. We were the first to enjoy all the latest facilities that greeted our times and had a much better head start in life as opposed to our parents. © Yash Raj Productions Cut to present, we are also called GenY now, and most of us are in the prime of our lives. However, with the said head start in our life, also comes greater expectations and that is something that's dawning upon us, even as we settle down for a few casual drinks with our mates these days. Our times have been different and we have come a long way since that of our previous generation. Our parents belong to a time when the “rules” were much more stringent and traditional ways of functioning were the norm. The society was less forgiving when it came to challenging traditions, and life, in a lot of ways, was pretty straitjacketed, that moved forward on ancient practices and beliefs to a large extent, even when enlightenment through education and exposure had begun to actively dribble in. © dharma productions Truth be told, even today most of us are invariably tied to the old ways but this is GenY and apart from being known for our resilience, we are also known for debunking the norms and living by our own rules. Here are 5 ways how GenY men have made up for the missteps of our previous generation. 1. Taking The Plunge Be it the stream of education we want to pursue, or the kind of career we wish to work on, GenY men have found a way to step out of the comfort of the traditional options that were made available to us by the previous generation. We have come to challenge their understanding of what qualifies as the best from the rest. © UTV Motion Pictures Young men today are not only opting for varied educational degrees but are also pursuing their career goals in such areas previously unheard of. That being said, they have proven time and again how old need not always be the only gold we set our eyes on. A gazillion success stories and life lessons later, they're paving wider paths for the next generation. 2. Freedom & Free Will We aren't trying to imply that our dads weren't free, in the basic sense of the word. Instead, what we're saying is that their notion of freedom was still restricted to the acceptable range of freeness set by the society at large. As for free will, we all know how the ones who dared to work on their own terms were labelled as rebels and often treated as an outcast. © dharma productions Today, however, young men have turned the meaning of these words around to really live a free life based on their own ideals and execute their free will to carve out a life, that suits the need of the time. Whether we look at men claiming their sexuality or choosing to stay in a live-in, today we will find myriad ways of how men are rewriting the meaning of freedom and free will. 3. Bending Gender Roles This one is perhaps one of the biggest changes many GenY men have initiated and we're sure women around the world are taking note of it. From shedding traditional gender roles to finding ways of uplifting the women around them, this generation doesn't believe men should be the sole breadwinners of the family or that women belong in the kitchen. © eros international From sharing duties around the house to active co-parenting and even turning into a full-time house-husband, men have shown the world that all the “traditional” gender roles are restrictive and unjust in more ways than one. 4. Discarding Socially Degenerate Dogmas This is something we can all be very proud of. We have not only stood up against a lot of injustices the society propagated in the name of caste and religion, but we have also been able to move away from their restricted notions of what makes up a perfect, sociable community. © Colour Yellow Productions Men today have constantly raised their voice for inclusiveness and ensured that those who have been marginalised for the strangest reasons, feel a part of the rest of the mainstream society by discarding degenerate social dogmas. 5. Thriving Entrepreneurial Instincts Another aspect that makes GenY very different from the previous one, is the way we tackle monetary matters. It's no longer just about assimilation, but today we are looking for better ways of multiplying our money. GenY doesn't believe in playing it safe just because there's money involved. Instead, we're choosing to risk all our hard earned money to create something larger than life with it, something the previous generation always warns us against. We no longer find solace in traditional jobs or family businesses but instead, wish to see what money can do for us. We have come a long way, won't you say?
  2. The interesting thing about sunscreens and sunblocks is that, we men don't use them religiously, despite them being the most important products that we should use. 4. A lot of beginners start with their fitness plans every single day. The motivation is often sky high with a good chance that the commute from the house to the gym is done with 'Eye of the Tiger' being played in the background. While trying to get into shape is a fantastic thing to do, these beginners or newbies also have little to no information about fitness. And it is not for them to blame, everyone starts that way. Let's look at five common beginner mistakes and how you could avoid doing them? 1. Going Too Heavy When you first hit the weights room, it is a bit intimidating. And then once you start hitting the weights, it is quite natural that you want to lift the heaviest weight as soon as possible as it gives a little stroke to your ego and newfound confidence. The problem is that when you just begin, your form and technique are still not sharp. The chances of you going wrong and getting injured are higher. Even advanced lifters suffer injuries due to poor technique at times, making form and technique very important for everyone. And as you are lifting for the first time, you will get really sore if you try to lift too many weights in one session. This soreness will keep you out of the gym longer than usual before you can go in and do your best again. It is always better to lift moderate-heavy loads and be regular with your sessions and focusing on your form and technique, thus getting in more work. 2. Too Much Cardio Another mistake most beginners make is that they include too much cardio in their routines as they have a mistaken notion, many times compounded by misinformed fitness professionals, saying you need to do exclusively or predominantly cardio if your goal is to get in shape. Want To Get In Shape? Lift The Damn Weights Cardio should be there to work your cardiovascular system and should be supplemented with your workout routine. It should not be your workout ALONE. My recommendations are 2-3 sessions of LISS (low-intensity steady state) cardio for 20 - 30 minutes OR 1-2 sessions of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) for 10-15 minutes if your goal is building a good physique. © YouTube 3. Not Enough Protein Lifting weights induce muscle breakdown and give your body the signal to build new protein aka muscle. But, you need to eat sufficient protein to be able to build and synthesize new muscle tissue. One common mistake most beginners make is to not eat enough protein in their diets. Aim for at least 1.4 to 1.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight if your goal is to build muscle. Read this 4. Missing Your Sleep Lifting all the weights, doing your cardio sessions, eating your protein, following a good diet, etc. will only help a little if your rest and recovery are not on point. These days, due to all the Netflix and social media, we tend to stay glued to our electronic devices and get very little sleep. This affects our recovery and subsequent performance. Not just inside but also outside the gym. Combine that with fatigue and there comes a perfect recipe for disaster. Beginner or advanced, aim to get 7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. Read this 5. Too Much Information It is very easy to find yourself between a lot of noise when you are just getting started with your fitness journey. Nearly everyone you meet is an 'expert' and will contradict the previous person's piece of advice. It becomes too easy to get lost and lose track altogether. A good way to navigate this would be to find ONE credible source of information and only listen to what they have to say. Find this ONE person by doing a little bit of research and check if they have a track record of giving good information and results to people out there. Bonus - Buying into the supplement hype © YouTube Today, a supplement for nearly everything exists that promises magical results without you having to do much by yourself. The truth is, there are very less number of supplements that actually work and provide any benefits. Read this Do not buy into this supplement hype and waste your money. I hope with this piece I save you from making the mistakes most beginners make and have you fast-tracked on your way to Gainsville!
  5. Think about your scariest memory, something that haunts you till date and gives you nightmares. Now multiply that fear 10 times and that's what it feels like to virtually be a part of 'The Conjuring' universe. © new line cinema Pick any movie, 'The Conjuring', 'Annabelle' or 'Annabelle: Creation'; every movie was a commercial and critical success and managed to scare the wits out of everyone, even the bravehearts. 6. Indian men are a funny breed. While most of them never shy away from championing themselves as grooming experts, an alarmingly large number of them still end up making some of the most amateurish and rookie mistakes you could possibly think of, Whether it's because of a lack of awareness, sheer ignorance, or just laziness - there are many men out there who continue to make basic mistakes that end up hampering their grooming game. So on that note, here are 5 amateur grooming mistakes that most Indian men NEED to stop committing, if they ever want to come across as being desirable. 1) Investing In The Wrong Trimmer For Their Beards © Unsplash The trimmer you'll be using is perhaps the single most important tool in your grooming artillery. After all, without a premium trimmer at your disposal, you'll never be able to properly groom and maintain your facial hair. Which is why it's probably so surprising to see so many Indian men end up buying the wrong trimmers for themselves. When looking for the best beard trimmer for yourself, you have to keep two important factors in mind - the type of beard you are growing and whether or not you want a rotary or foil trimmer. Pro tip: Brands such as Nova, Philips and Havells curate some of the best trimmers for men out there, and that too at affordable rates. 2) Using The Wrong Skin Care And Beard Care Products © Unsplash Since men often lack the expertise to identify grooming essentials that are best suited for their skin and beards, they end up investing in the wrong products. This is a rookie mistake, but one that can have alarming consequences. After all, if you end up using a face wash that is specifically designed for dry skin, while you yourself harbour oily skin, it may cause harmful effects on your skin. Similarly, using a beard oil designed for longer beards on your stubble is not advisable. So make sure you get only those grooming and wellness products that are suitable for your skin and facial hair. 3) Harbouring An Unkempt Beard Or Mooch © Pexels Growing a long and bushy beard is fine, as long as its groomed and kempt. Harbouring unkempt facial hair will only achieve one thing - make you look incredibly undesirable and homeless. As such, you need to make sure that - regardless of its length - you are always harbouring a well-groomed beard and mooch, if you want to leave a lasting (positive!) impression that is. 4) Ignoring Nose And Ear Hygiene © Official Instagram/Ranveer Singh Many people believe that grooming your facial hair is only confined to taking care of your beard and mooch. In reality, ensuring that your ear and nose hairs are trimmed is just as important (and hygienic!) as maintaining your facial hair. So when you are stocking up on grooming essentials for your beard and mooch, don't forget to get nose and ear hair trimmers as well. Pro tip: Some of the best Philips trimmers for men out there come equipped with nose and ear trimmers/combs as well. 5) Following The Crowd © Official Instagram/Shahid Kapoor It's not a hard and fast rule that what may look good on one person will look good on you as well. It's one thing to appreciate a celebrity's beard and mooch game, and another thing altogether to try and ape it. After all, there are many different factors that decide how good (or bad!) a specific beard will look on you ranging from your facial shape to the speed at which your hair grows out. So don't be a sheep and cultivate your own sense of style.
  7. We've heard the wise say that life is unpredictable, but what they did not tell us was that this isn't just true about our life's final moments, but can even be applied to the most mind-blowing moments we live to experience in life. © Instagram This is the reason why every philosopher tells us to live in the moment and make the most of it. While we are busy tapping on our phones, clicking selfies or bending our fingers on a laptop at work, there are people who are taking this advice seriously and charging ahead with their hearts set on doing the right thing, by doing what they do best. This is the story about one of India's raging superstars, rapper Divine aka Vivian Fernandes from Mumbai who went from being a backstreet “gully” performer to a world-class rapper with an ardent fan following both in India and abroad. © Instagram His journey from being Vivian to Divine is a testimony that luck shines on those who dare to follow their heart and work hard. His rise to fame is nothing short of magnificent with his videos crossing the million mark within 24-hours of releasing. His songs are tales from the streets of Mumbai and range from satirical, autobiographical confessionals to rage anthem for an entire generation, that can instantly relate to the realities presented through his lyrics that talk about the city, its people and numerous other societal elements such as corruption and poverty. © Instagram Here is a 17-point guide to Divine's rise from being an underground rapper to an international performer. 1. Born Vivian Fernandes, Divine is a resident of JB Nagar in Andheri East. He had an abusive father who abandoned them due to which his mother moved to the Gulf to feed the family. He and his elder brother have been brought up by their grandmother. 2. He is a product of St. John Evangelist High School, Marol and RD National College. During his formative years as an aspiring artist, he used to play 'fillers' during college shows. © Instagram 3. Divine got hooked to the music created by Eminem and 50 Cent when a friend once gave him a CD. Inspired, he would labour over verses for hours after school. 4. His stage name is inspired by the peace he felt during his visits to the church in Marol with his grandmother. The Indian Express once quoted him, “when I began to rap, I called myself DIVINE. No other name came to mind”. 5. He started out as an underground rapper in 2011 and was a part of a hip-hop crew called Mumbai's Finest. © Instagram He became popular with his home-made YouTube video 'Yeh Mera Bombay', shot on the streets of his gully, in 2013. The video broke new grounds and received the best video of the year award from Rolling Stone India in 2014. 6. Mainstream success finally knocked on his door in 2015 when social media blew up following his collab with another Mumbai-based rapper Naezy for a track they composed together called 'Mere Gully Mein'. 7. In 2016, Divine launched his solo single 'Jungli Sher' which is a defiant anthem about growing up a broken family with limited means. The video became an instant hit on social media. © Instagram 8. He collaborated with DJ Nucleya in 'Jungle Raja' on Nucleya's album 'Bass Rani'. The track 'Jungle Raja' won 'Best EDM Track Of The Year' 2015 at the GIMA Awards. 9. Divine caught Sony Music India's attention during the Blue Frog Festival in 2014 and went on to launch his smashing debut single 'Jungli Sher' under Sony. 10. On 16 February 2017 he released his second single 'Farak' that topped the Indipop chart on iTunes India and collaborated with numerous artists such as Deep Jandu and Gangis Khas for ' Daru Daru' and India-American rapper and songwriter Raja Kumari for 'City Slums'. © Instagram 11. His big Bollywood debut came with the song 'Paintra' in collaboration with Nucleya, for the movie 'Mukkabaaz' that released on 1 December 2017. 12. January 2018 saw Divine's remix of Lil Pump's 'Gucci Gang' go viral. In March he collaborated with singer and music director Amit Trivedi for Irrfan Khan starrer 'Blackmail' on the song 'Badla'. 13. Amongst the many highs Divine has seen so far in 2018, the most special would be the release of his first single 'One Side' from his debut EP through his own label Gully Gang Records. © Instagram 14. The next big thing for the star was producing the soundtrack for 'Sacred Games' called 'Kaam-25' along with music producer Phenom. 15. Divine is one of the very rare rappers who has performed with a complete band featuring names like Randolph Correia, Jai Row Kavi and The Spindoctor, with between 5,000 and 15,000 people in attendance. 16. He was the first Hindi rapper to appear on BBC Asian Network's 'Fire in the Booth' with British DJ Charlie Sloth. © Instagram 17. Inspired by his life story and achievements, Zoya Akhtar decided to make a movie on the lives of upcoming hip-hop singer and rappers in Mumbai. The film called 'Gully Boy' is set to release on 14th February 2019 with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. Bhai @ranveersingh slaying Jungli sher like a boss! ð¥ð¯â¤ï¸ðð½#GullyGang #Guttaflow #GullyBoy #VoiceOfTheStreets A post shared by D I V I N E (GULLYGANG) (@vivianakadivine) on Sep 7, 2017 at 5:48am PDT There, we laid it all out for you but there still remains one detail about the rapper that we haven't shared with you. © Instagram Even after attaining so much success and fame, Divine is a humble and rooted guy who won't miss a call from his mother under any circumstance. Why? Because he says, “ My mother's love means the world to me, so I often bring it up in my music.”
  8. Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj who is known for his movies, scripts and music has once again left us in awe of his filmmaking skills with the trailer of his latest film 'Pataakha'. The intense portrayal of sibling rivalry is gritty, complex and hilarious in 'Pataakha'. It is compared to the violent and turbulent relationship of that of India and Pakistan, and honestly, he's not exaggerating! With every movie, Bhardwaj brings out a story that is different from our mainstream cinema. He is not just a brilliant director but someone who understands the essence of what a movie has to be about and how a story needs to be presented on the big screen. © Twitter Earlier there were reports that the director had a great script in mind and was in talks with Priyanka Chopra for the same. Finally, the deal is sealed, and the movie is all set to go on the floors next year. Just like most of his movies, this one is said to be an adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play 'Twelfth Night'. © Twitter When asked about it, Vishal said, “Priyanka also wants to work with me. And we are working with each other. Hopefully, we will start the film next year.” © Twitter Priyanka and Vishal have already collaborated earlier on '7 Khoon Maaf' and 'Kaminey', and we got to admit that they work amazingly together. This news has got us excited and we can't wait for this duo to create something extraordinary once again.
  9. 2018 seems to be the year Saif Ali Khan reinvented himself in a way. 10. In the recent years, HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training has taken a centrestage in the world of fitness. New type of circuits involving various permutations and combinations are all rage. HIIT basically involves short bursts of all-out exertion, followed by rest. These protocols have been extremely effective and are excellent for people lacking time for workouts. © Pixabay But Nothing Has Had A More Cult Following Than The “Tabata Protocol” A study was conducted in 1996 by Dr. Izumi Tabata, Ph.D. and other researchers at the National Institute of Health and Nutrition in Tokyo, Japan, in the journal of Medical Science for Sports and Exercise, to test the effects of moderate intensity endurance and high intensity intermittent training on anaerobic capacity and VO2 max. Tabata wanted to test the workout protocol used by Japanese National Speed Skating Team Head Coach, Kouichi Irisawa, because of which the team had won various medals in several competitions. The study found that adequate high-intensity training may improve both anaerobic and aerobic energy supplying systems significantly and the rate of improvement in VO2 max was one of the highest ever reported. The Original TABATA Workout Protocol The traditional Tabata protocol involved 8 intervals of 20 secs all out intensity exercise followed by 10 sec rest, which makes a total of 4 minutes of work only! So the protocol is (20-10) x 8. Push hard for 20sec, rest for 10sec, repeat this eight times. Dr. Tabata tested this protocol against a moderate intensity group in which 14 subjects riding cycles were asked to pedal at 70% VO2 max for 1hr/day, five days per week. VO2 max and anaerobic capacity was measured before and after each training session for the total duration of the study which was 6 weeks. The other group which did the Tabata protocol did so at 170% VO2 max. © Freeletics The normal group after 6 weeks experienced a 10% increase in VO2 max and no effect on anaerobic capacity was seen. However, in the Tabata protocol group, the VO2 max saw a 14% increase and a 28% increase in the anaerobic capacity. Now If You Really Do Tabata The Right Way, Most Would Black Out Even Before Completing But what most people don't understand is that when we talk about 100% VO2 max, it means the person's oxygen uptake is at its max, and is the state of complete exhaustion. Now, imagine increasing the intensity to 170%. This is the true Tabata interval i.e. maximal effort. Most guys would black out, much before that. So, performing any interval and clicking selfies to show your sweat, means you haven't done Tabata, otherwise you wouldn't be clicking the selfies. So, before you do anything in 20-10 interval form and call it Tabata, get your facts right. In fact, Dr. Tabata himself, in an interview with Muscle and Fitness magazine, said, “If you are doing Tabata correctly (and many people do not) you would only be able to ever do one round of it – and indeed you'd be unlikely to even finish that before complete exhaustion set in!” Tabata Doesn't Really Equate To Fat Loss © Pixabay Anthony Colpo, author and researcher says that, even though Tabata was used to launch the HIIT = fat loss, it never actually examined fat loss. What highlighted this training is the fact that HIIT increases the EPOC many times higher than traditional endurance training which leads to greater fat loss. The problem is actually wrongly understood and amazingly marketed. Understand that, EPOC is not just affected by exercise intensity – EPOC increases linearly with the exercise duration. This means that if the exercise session is both long and intense i.e. both the volume and intensity are high which is the case with most sports—be it badminton, basketball, football, rugby, cycling etc. they will end up with much higher EPOC. This means that Tabata style workouts are best as a finisher but they can't be the “be all end all” in the workout. 11. We've been through that phase you know, the one where as young adults all our moves were judged and every statement that we uttered was clipped before we could even complete it. A lot of times we were not taken seriously, even when we wanted to speak about issues that were close to our heart. © Facebook Our society, being the skewed version of itself that it is, never bothers to pay heed to what troubles the young minds of our nation. Heck, half the time they don't care about the concerns the 'adults' are dealing with let alone the needs of the youth. However, with the elections drawing closer we do see the expected rise of politicians who often 'appear' to be earnestly interested to hear us out and lend a helping hand. But let's face it, what has been done about even the most pressing issues that are of importance to us right now? From substance abuse to unemployment to lack of higher education opportunities and what not, a LOT of our needs are falling on deaf ears. Times Are Changing © Facebook The International Youth Day this year brought with itself a welcome wind of change, and we as youngsters must seize this opportunity to make the most of it. Naga Sravan Kilaru, a young bloke from Andhra Pradesh has taken it upon himself to stir up the state's young minds, help them speak up and ensure that they get heard by those who can make a difference to their lives. With the belief that the youth must be thought of as the present of a country and not the future, Kilaru launched Yuvagalam on International Youth Day (12th August) that promises to maximise the impact of Indian youth on our nation's future and aims to capture and channel their aspirations by creating a unified voice. © Facebook What Yuvagalam wishes to achieve through this movement is accountability of people in positions of power, as well as political empowerment for the young generation of our country. He wants to ensure that no political party takes the young voters of this country for granted and pays heed to their immediate issues. Here Is How This Works Kilaru plans to read the pulse of youngsters through one-on-one interaction with students, both online and offline, by the means of a 3000-kilometre walk across 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh over a course of 100 days and visiting at least 120 colleges to take inputs from at least 1,00,000 youngsters by the end of the campaign. © Facebook Post this move, they would compile all the collected data and form a 'youth manifesto' which they want the political parties in the state to adopt and make it a part of their election manifesto before the state elections early next year. They want young people to come together, fight for their rights such as political representation. What Is The End Goal © Facebook Apart from lending a voice to the youth through the 'youth manifesto', they also wish to identify passionate and accountable youngsters who wish to bring about a change in the society and help them participate in existing community projects, as well as set up new initiatives for the development of our society and the nation at large. Naga Sravan Kilaru has a lot of gems on his crowns. He is an Industrial Engineering and Management graduate and was awarded the National Youth Award by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India in January this year for his active citizenship. He also represented India as a 'Young Delegate' at the Summer Youth Assembly of the United Nations in 2016. © Facebook This young lad has passion and the willingness to make an impact at a personal level, so that India can rise and shine in the days to come. We love this initiative he has undertaken and can't wait to see what this movement creates for the youth of the nation.
  12. Whenever you think of a film from the 90s, you automatically imagine snow clad mountains and a beautiful actress dancing in her solid coloured chiffon sari, gesturing her love interest in the film to come and join her, and complete the romantic dream sequence, that was probably the highlight of the film. But Mani Ratnam wasn't one of those directors who'd charter a plane to Switzerland just to shoot a love song or a sad romance for a movie. He believed in realistic cinema and always brought the truest colours of his subject out, in the most intense way back then. © Eros International 'Dil Se' was one of the most basic examples of a classic Mani Ratnam film, and it surely taught me a lot of things while I watched the movie several times growing up. My sheer fascination with the protagonist's passion for love grew threefold and all the songs from the movie stuck with me, for life. All in all, 'Dil Se' taught me a lot about love and life and gave me an entirely different perspective on Bollywood cinema in the 90s. Ratnam's cinematic experience, Gulzar's lyrics, Rahman's music, Santosh Sivam's screenplay and one of Shah Rukh Khan's best performances till date, 'Dil Se', makes you fall in love with the insatiable sadness and romance the movie showcases, with absolutely no remorse. © Eros International Today, it completes 20 years in Bollywood, and even though it didn't do very well at the box office, here are some lessons in life and love that I take from it and believe in, all at the same time: Love Is Relentless Yet Selfless Shah Rukh Khan portrays the role of an AIR jockey and meets a mysterious woman on a lonely railway platform and instantly falls in love with her. But it's not the kind of love we see today but the kind that is probably rare and uninitiated. He loved her with all his heart but he never forced her to change her life's ideals to suit his needs. He loved her selflessly till the end. I believe we don't believe in that kind of selfless love anymore, the kind 'Dil Se' scripted for the youngsters back then to follow and understand. © Eros International Amar & Meghna's Story Is Unlike Any Other Bollywood Movie Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, who play Amar and Meghna, have an intriguing love story. It develops slowly and steadily when Amar falls in love with Meghna and moves swiftly through boatloads of poetry and some intense romance. Even though every step is a struggle for a lost and found kind of love, he still manages to make the best of it, whenever he can. Remember this beautiful dialogue? "Mujhe sabse zyaada pasand hai tumhaari yeh aankhen. Kyunki main jitna bhi inmen dekhna chaahuun...mujhe kuch dikhta hi nahin. Tumhaari andar itna kuch chupaa huaa hai. Mujhe woh bahut pasand hai.." © Eros International You Can Love Someone From A Distance Throughout the movie, Amar is pining and looking for his lady love, until she lands up in his own house, obviously for other reasons unknown to Amar. By this time, Amar is almost engaged to another woman (Preity Zinta), but that in no way deters his spirit to love Meghna even more fiercely and finding out her purpose in life, which has been left in the realms of mystery, throughout the movie. But even though he wishes to see her every time he loses her in the movie, he doesn't stop loving her. © Eros International Love Doesn't Have To Be Subtle Or Full Of Conditions Do you remember the scene in the movie when Amar confesses his love for Meghna? It goes something like this - "Mujhe kuch nahi pata, bas yeh pata hai ki main tumhe chaahta hoon, dil se.." I remember his love for her to be fierce and passionate and I always thought that's the kind of love I want. I wanted to be loved with that kind of a fervour, and a lot of people do fall in love and fill it with passion, but the generation today is so steadfast on a few things, that there are myriad conditions put in front of love, conditions that everyone has to adhere to. Love can be daunting, fierce and passionate and it can be beautiful too. And that's the kind of love that lasts. Not the one with conditions. © Eros International Always Express Your Feelings Amar didn't care who Meghna was or what her purpose was in life but he had to share how he felt for her. He didn't care where she came from or where she was going, as long as she knew he loved her and that he wasn't willing to let go. That's one life lesson this movie has ardently taught me. Never let the people you truly love, go. It's seldom you love and if you need to stick it out to keep them in your life, because they're absolutely worth it, then you definitely must do that. © Eros International 'Dil Se' was an epic cult movie, and it deserves a mention each time it completes another year of existing. Right from the beautiful soundtrack to the abstract and malleable dialogues, it all fits perfectly well with someone who loves without fearing anything or anyone. If you haven't seen it, you've surely missed out on something. Watch it for the heck of nostalgia or to take a trip down memory lane, in any case!
  13. Karan Johar's 'Dostana' in 2008 was one of the most cliché films ever made. Despite the number of hot people in the movie, it was a stereotype-fest that was just painful to watch. Yea, the makers feebly tried to do something different with the whole 'gay love' concept, and sure, we are thankful for the iconic Desi Girl number and the unforgettable shot of Priyanka Chopra in a golden swimsuit, but they ended up going full throttle on a pigeonhole plotline that just killed the movie in the end. TBH, we love Karan Johar, but man, does he go overboard with the drama sometimes. © Dharma Production While 'Dostana' did make good money at the box office, it didn't really need a sequel. © Dharma Production As per the latest reports, Karan is all set to announce the second instalment of the movie. The script is ready and Karan has roped his new favourite, Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra. © Twitter With the script ready and the two leads locked in, all they need now to get started is the second male lead for the movie. However, who can fit the role isn't the question, but what will the script be this time, is what we are interested in. Like the previous instalment, this one will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani as well. © Dharma Production For those who haven't watched the movie, 'Dostana' is a love triangle rom-com starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. Two men who need a place to live, end up renting rooms in a woman's house by pretending to be a gay couple, as her aunt does not want her niece living with single men. As you can imagine, both fall for her but turns out she is in love with her boss, Sunny Deol. A series of hilarious instances unfold as they try to sabotage her relationship with him. The only way 'Dostana 2' is not doomed to failure, is if the makers steer clear of the obvious and actually try to work on a creative plotline, which does not thrive on the stereotype. Here is hoping for a sensible script and not something vague like its predecessor.

  17. Actors are often blamed for charging a hefty fee for a movie. Some even blame that due to this, producers often make less profit or at times, end with up nothing. Khans in B-town often charge an exorbitant amount of some hundred crores and that is something which will never change. The bigger the star, the bigger is their fee. However, contrary to the ongoing canon, not many know that Aamir Khan has actually stopped charging a fee for his movies. Talking in a media interaction, Aamir revealed, “Actually I don't charge a fee. People don't know that, but it has been years since I have stopped charging a fee.” Wonder how he makes those big bucks then? © Twitter It all started when Shabana Azmi, who was sitting in the audience at the event, took the chance and asked him about stars demanding 80 per cent as their fee, and that how can one make a successful film with just 20 per cent left in hand. Quite a valid question we must say, got us thinking as well. To which Aamir explained, that his way of earning money is different. He doesn't charge a single penny until the makers have recovered all their costs of making of the film, including promotions to the producer's profit. © Twitter Revealing his model he said, if the film fails, he gets nothing and if it is successful, he has a higher profit share. The actor said he has always ensured that his producers earn money, as it helps secure his career and film choices. “I think the script is the foundation. I ensure that once I love the story and the film is in the making, people who are investing money should not face loss. I don't allow the producer to shoulder the responsibility alone. My first rupee comes to me when the film's cost is recovered in every aspect, after the producer's and everybody else's money is recovered. That's the model I work with, and I take a higher cut in the percentage because I am risking my time on that, and I think producers are happy with that too,” he added. © Twitter He firmly believes that this is the best model that works for his movie. Explaining further he said, “If a producer is not losing money, it is but obvious that he will sign me for the next film. That is why I always ensure that if I am signed in a film, there is no loss." The first time Aamir tried this model was in 2001 during the making of 'Lagaan'. “Since that film was one of the expensive films of that time, and was breaking a lot of rules of mainstream Indian cinema, that is why I felt the importance of taking the responsibility. When I come on board, producers and financiers do not question me on the subject I chose for a film because they trust me, they have faith in me. That is why I want to ensure the profit." © Twitter Now, that's not just an interesting but a very smart business model as well. Clearly, he is called 'Mr. Perfectionist' for a reason. He makes sure that making money is a win-win situation for both the actor, the maker and other people involved in the movie making. Sounds fair. On the work front, Aamir is busy with the work of his upcoming film 'Thugs of Hindostan'. The film, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh and is scheduled to release on Diwali 2018.

Actually, there might be a bit of a debate when it comes to that, because not everyone agrees with his sense of style and aesthetic, but the thing that everyone will definitely agree with, is that he wears the most expensive clothes. While they have exclusively created quite a big market for themselves as the unquestionable selfie experts, there is a lot more that they are venturing into. And that brings us to their latest power move – the flagship killer, OPPO Find X. If you haven't heard yet, here's the breaking news – after a global launch of the OPPO Find X last month, the smartphone has finally made its way to India and we couldn't be more excited. To simply break it down for you, the OPPO Find X is going to be a game changer for the company. They are pushing the boundaries of technology and offering things that you won't find in your otherwise smartphone favourites. So, let's find out the big 5 moves that are changing the game! OPPO 1. The Notch Is Replaced By A Slider Camera To add a greater screen to body ratio, they have decided to do away with the notch altogether. A move that competing smartphone companies haven't tried yet. The notch has been replaced by a motorised camera sliding mechanism that slides up within 0.5 seconds every time you want to take a picture or unlock the phone using face recognition. 20. After patiently waiting for several months for 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' to release, we are now only a few hours away from watching the movie, and agent Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise in all his glory and injuries. Paramount Pictures Talking about injuries, the whole world knows how badly Cruise got hurt while shooting in London, when he misjudged a leap and crashed into a wall. To refresh your memories, this is the injury we're talking about. Paramount Pictures This injury halted the film's shoot for months and when Cruise returned, there was no turning back for him or Christopher McQuarrie. Together they shot some insane stunts that will go down in the history of Hollywood as some of the greatest stunts of all time. From HALO jump, jaw dropping fight scenes to jumping 25000 feet over 100 times to get one stunt right; Cruise has left no stone unturned in making this insanely dangerous and tough mission look like a cakewalk to the viewers. Paramount Pictures However, because of his injury the cost of this movie has now blown out of proportion, making this mission the most expensive one (even with insurance). According to Hollywood Reporter, because of the eight-week shooting hiatus (after Cruise got injured), Tom Cruise's injury and recuperation, the movie's budget rose to $250 million (over Rs 1700 crore approx.) In fact, this amount is much more than the previous movie 'Rogue Nation' that cost nearly $170 million. Paramount Pictures 'Mission: Impossible Fallout' will hit the theatres tomorrow and we can't wait to see Ethan Hunt's injury that finally made its way into the final cut of the movie.
  21. Search "perks of dating" on the internet and you will find thousands of articles that will make every single person feel miserable about his or her life. But of all those benefits or advantages listed there, there is one that no one openly talks about. I am sure no one mentions how dating turns every guy into a professional photographer, thanks to the millions of photographs he clicks of his girlfriend, in a single day. Call it stereotyping or whatever, but there's no denying that it happens with a majority of people. via GIPHY And when your girl is hanging out with her best friend, you have a field day (quite literally) being their official photographer and leaving no stone unturned in clicking that perfect Instagram worthy shot. In fact, Alia Bhatt's latest Instagram post is proof that every boyfriend in the world has this one thing in common, irrespective of whether he is an actor or a common guy. If you follow Alia Bhatt on Instagram, then you must have come across her picture with her best friend. But, that's not even the main point. It is the picture credit that is making the internet have a meltdown. © Instagram After applying all the permutations and combinations, and calculating the possibilities of how many RK(s) can there be in Alia's life, people came to the conclusion that it's actor Ranbir Kapoor who is currently dating her. The picture's caption read, "The view and her too...photo credit - RK." the view and her too.. ð¸photo credit - RK A post shared by Alia â¨âï¸ (@aliaabhatt) on Jul 25, 2018 at 11:14am PDT From playing Sanju in this year's biggest blockbuster movie to becoming a photographer for his girlfriend, Ranbir Kapoor's job switch is as great as the view in the background. This one picture was enough to raise several eyebrows and make their respective fans lose their minds. While some were shipping for them as a couple, others were calling it a promotional stunt. Whatever it is, internet and social media has given this year's 'Best Boyfriend Award' to Ranbir Kapoor and others will have to work really hard to steal it back. © Instagram For those wondering who is 'her' in the picture, it is Alia's best friend Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who posted another picture on her Instagram with the caption, "Nothin' but blue skies (when you got the best photographer in town). nothin' but blue skies ð (when you got the best photographer in town) A post shared by ð¦Kanch (@akansharanjankapoor) on Jul 26, 2018 at 2:45am PDT On the work front, Ranbir and Alia are currently in Bulgaria shooting for Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra'. Produced by Karan Johar, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy and will release in 2019.
  22. This is probably the weirdest smartphone leak we've come across in 2018 and what you're about to hear is probably going to be baffling. The phone in question is probably Tesla's new offering or more like accessories for the phone. Tesla at the moment has been facing numerous issues and they range from Elon Musk ranting on Twitter to a falling stock price because of low sales. We're not even sure why Tesla is about to make a smartphone; however, knowing how Elon Musk functions, it's quite possible someone challenged him. © SlashLeaks The above image was posted on SlashLeaks and to be honest we don't know even know what to expect from the electric car manufacturer. The source has not been mentioned nor any explanations offered for what is pictured above. The above picture basically shows accessories for a smartphone with Tesla's logo on it. What appears to be the front panel of the smartphone is actually a screen protector for a phone that basically screams “I'm an iPhone X clone". It has a notch and narrow bezels just like the iPhone X. The other object in the picture may be a case with an opening on the top left for a dual camera module. The Tesla logo is prominent and in the middle to basically act as an identifier for the brand of the smartphone — you know to distinguish itself from other iPhone X clones. © SlashLeaks The name of the smartphone has also been disclosed and according to sources it is to be called the Tesla Quadra. We're not entirely sure that Tesla even knows how to make a smartphone but we must applaud the company's effort to enter one of the most competitive industries in the world. © Reuters These can also be accessories for an existing smartphone; however, it is highly unlikely as we aren't aware of any smartphone that would fit the screen protector or the case. If Tesla is making its own smartphones, what would be the company's strategy to sell the smartphone? What would be unique about the smartphone that would make people buy a Tesla-branded smartphone? It is also quite possible that this may just be a fake because — China makes anything and everything. It is also quite possible that Tesla may have partnered with an existing smartphone company like Porsche Design partners with Huawei and Lamborghini with OPPO. Whatever it may be, time will tell. 23. Ranveer Singh is a mysterious person. Okay, that probably isn't accurate because he lets us know everything about whatever he's up to, most of the time. But this time he made an exception. He posted a picture on Instagram wearing a super weird but edgy AF costume, in a setting that reminded us of intergalactic warfare. All he said in the description is 'Coming soon', and that is giving us major curiosity because we are always super invested in whatever Baba is up to. Take a look at the picture. © Instagram Woah! Right? We are as impressed as we're curious. What can it possibly be? He says coming soon, so it indicates a still from a video, or probably a poster of sorts. But we don't know of any movie he has signed recently that requires him dressing up in an elaborate space-suit-ish costume of sorts. Can it be a commercial? The fashionable armour, along with that statement eyewear piece screams Ranveer all the way through, and we can't wait to see what it's all about. © Instagram On further investigation, it does in fact look like Baba is gearing up for (has shot, rather) an elaborate commercial. What it is about, we still have no clue. What we have, but, are some more pictures. Don't you just love how the costume mirrors his personal style? Had he been an intergalactic warrior, this is exactly how he'd have dressed up. © Instagram We also have a probable theory. Remember when he had worked with Rohit Shetty for a commercial, way before they worked together for 'Simmba'? That was one crazy commercial, which was a compressed version of a Rohit Shetty movie - replete with action sequences. What caught our eye then was the elaborate costumes used - something that still holds true. © Instagram We aren't sure whether the earpods are a part of the costume, but they sure do look like they are. Also, the pout brigade must be proud. All we can say is that, we don't know anyone else who could have pulled off this costume. *Thumbs up!*
  24. Being the most-watched sport across the globe, football undoubtedly translates into several benefits for the clubs and players. More viewership means more revenues from TV rights, sponsorships, and endorsements. With so much of money flowing in, clubs are able to match up to some crazy wages demanded by some of football's greatest superstars. Here's a look at the weekly wages of football superstars: 1. Graziano Pelle (290,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Move over Middle East! China has become the top destination for players looking to make a fortune. Following the footsteps of Hulk, Oscar, and Anelka, former Southampton striker Pelle joined Shandong Luneng. His desire to switch can definitely be attributed to the wages as opposed to improving his game or seeking bigger challenges. He reportedly earns about 15 million pounds every year. 2. Paul Pogba (300,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Manchester United had to literally empty every last bit of their pocket when they brought Paul Pogba from Juventus. His transfer figures of 89 million pounds created a furore across social media, with pundits and fans having the unrealistic expectation of him scoring in almost every game. Pogba's presence led United to a Europa League, and an EFL Cup. He reportedly draws 15.5 million pounds annually. 3. Kylian Mbappe (305,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Paul Pogba's compatriot earns slightly more than him. After all, PSG is becoming the economic powerhouse of football, and can match up to the crazy wages of superstars like Cavani, Neymar, and Mbappe. The 19-year-old striker has already drawn comparisons with Thierry Henry and if that's true, then his wages are fully justified. He earns 16 million pounds a year. 4. Hulk (325,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Hulk, true to his name, has created a pretty Herculean dent in the Chinese Football League. He joined Shanghai SIPG from Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia and has since then banged 34 goals in just 52 games. He's drawing wages of 17 million pounds a year but is now reportedly looking for bigger challenges, possibly in the English Premier League. 5. Cristiano Ronaldo (355,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Many would have expected either Ronaldo or Messi to top the list of the highest wage earners, but Ronaldo is not even in the top 3. If sources are to be believed, this goal machine's contract at Real Madrid gives him 18.5 million pounds a year. Ronaldo moved to Juventus earlier this week and has apparently taken a wage cut. 6. Ezequiel Lavezzi (385,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Argentine attacker Lavezzi plied his trade for big spenders PSG between 2012-16 before moving on to join Hebei China Fortune in the Chinese League. He failed to bag even a single goal during the 10 appearances that he made in the first season. However, Lavezzi redeemed himself with an astonishing 20 goals in 27 games in the very next season! For his services, Hebei China Fortune are paying him 20 million pounds. 7. Oscar (405,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Oscar created quite a storm when he left Premier League champions, Chelsea, to join Shanghai SIPG. He was at the peak of his career at 24 and given his performances for Chelsea and Brazil back then, he could have easily gone on to play for any big European club. His move cost him both his fans, as well as a place in the Brazilian national team. He was conspicuous by his absence at the 2018 World Cup. If we could assign a price to this, it is 21.5 million pounds! 8. Alexis Sanchez (450,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Alexis joined Manchester United from fellow league rivals Arsenal in the January transfer window in exchange for Armenian winger Mkhitaryan. He's a proven talent in the Premier League, scoring and assisting in double digits during the 2 seasons before this one. He earns about 450,000 pounds per week, which is about 23.5 million pounds a year. 9. Neymar (600,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Believe it or not, PSG are reported paying weekly wages of 600,000 pounds for Neymar's goals. And it seems like their monetary incentive is paying off. Neymar has scored 24 goals and provided 14 assists in just 23 games. He may not earn the Ballon d'Or this year but is earning 31.7-million-pounds a year. 10. Lionel Messi (770,000 Pounds A Week) © Reuters Arguably the greatest player on Earth, Lionel Messi earns 770,000 pounds per week. While his wage figures have often been criticized, one can never put a price to the invaluable dribbles, through balls, and moments of magic that he produces. The Barcelona talisman makes about £40.5 million annually.
