ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday expressed his displeasure claiming Geo News twisted and misreported Imran Khan's words from his interview with the BBC Urdu service.Β

The BBC Urdu service had interviewed the PTI chairman a day earlier in which he stated, he was now grateful that PTI did not form the federal government in the 2013 elections, otherwise the situation would have been like the same as it was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where besides Pervez Khattak everyone else was new and didn't even know what was happening for the first year.

The interview also included Imran Khan's statement that,Β the new local bodies system introduced in the province was not implemented fully because members of his own party and the provincial bureaucracy were against it.Β

Both statements were reported by Geo News exactly as they were by the BBC Urdu service.Β

The BBC's interview with Imran Khan may be viewed here, to see what the PTI chairman had in fact said.Β

A comparison of the BBC Urdu story avaiable on its website here also shows without a doubt that Geo News reported the story using the exact same words during its news bulletin.Β

No words were twisted or turned or misreported as Geo News continues maintains its tradition of reporting facts exactly as they are to its audience and will always remain committed to the same.Β
