Twitter Guffaws As Rahul Gandhi Plans A Visit To The US To Discuss Artificial Intelligence

Rahul Gandhi is anything but a stranger to trolls. Despite of being the Vice-President of Congress, the oldest political party in the country and having over 3 million followers on Twitter, this 47-year-old man doesn't exactly have the largest ‘fan' base. His political party has suffered many a setbacks because of his speeches, wrong doings and his unhealthy habit of attacking every other political leader (PM Narendra Modi is of course, his favorite).

Whenever this infamous politician takes a decision or an initiative, even if backed by good intentions, the internet turns him into an object of ridicule. His foreign vacations and luxurious lifestyle often gets trolled on social media.  Some even go a step further and hack his social media accounts just to have a good laugh.

So obviously, when it was announced that Rahul Gandhi is planning to take a trip to US in order to indulge in discussions with some of the pioneers of research on artificial intelligence (AI), people couldn't believe it. More so, he will be addressing a conference on 'India at 70: Reflections on the Path Forward' at the University of California, Berkeley, on September 11.

According to a Congress leader, Rahul wants India to lead in AI because at present, it is still in its baby stages, while countries like China are a step ahead from us and have made heavy investments for research into this sphere.

Ideally, it should have been great news for the country; a political leader trying to bring India at par with other countries in a niche area. However, this announcement did not really go down with Twitter users.

Twitter users are of the belief that Rahul, ‘lovingly' called “Pappuji”, lacks even the basic of intelligence and so, they could not resist the opportunity to troll this announcement.

Take a look at some of the funniest reactions:

Agreed that some of these are truly hilarious, we now have to wait and watch to see how this whole turns out in the end. But if this is how the Twitter world reacts on just hearing the news, they will definitely go ballistic if god forbid, he commits a mistake or says something absurd in the speech.
