PESHAWAR: Another incident of violation of rules in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has surfaced, Geo News reported on Friday.
The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Board (Pedo) will be paying the fees to challenge the Peshawar High Court?s (PHC) suspension of its own CEO, Akbar Ayub, in the Supreme Court.
The PEDO board of directors has approved to pay the fees for the Supreme Court, Geo News reported.
In June this year, the PHC declared Ayub?s appointment illegal after a Pedo employee petitioned the high court against his appointment as the CEO in violation of rules.
The court had declared the CEO post vacant and directed the government to fill the position strictly in accordance with law. The petitioners had contended that Ayub was a finance expert and did not have the relevant experience in the energy sector nor had remained the CEO of any company prior to his appointment at Pedo.
Later, another bench of the PHC had ruled that the implementation of the court's suspension order would remain stalled until the appeal is decided by the apex court.
