KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies detained 14 suspects in various search operations carried out late Monday night in different parts of the metropolis, Geo News reported.

One suspect was arrested during a search operation conducted in the city's Gizri area, police said, adding that the detainee has been identified as Mansoor.

Officials revealed that contraband was recovered from the suspect, who has allegedly been involved in various crimes.

13 other suspects were detained following a raid in the Baloch Colony area, security officials stated.

Firing in Lyari

Unidentified assailants barged into the residence of Lyari's UC-13 councillor Kamran Noor Monday night, opening fire and wounding him.

Noor ? who belongs to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ? was left injured, but not mortally, following the attack at his Kumhar Wara home, police officers explained.

Police added that the firing incident took place due to some personal rivalry.
