Mumbai Is Now Grooving To A 'Silent Garba Party' With Headphones To Cancel Out Noise Pollution

Noise pollution is always on the rise during festive season. From music to fire crackers, everything contributes to noise pollution and the like and makes the city unbearable for a while. Mumbai though, has found a sure shot cure for this problem! A Mumbai Garba party has found a rather β€˜sound' and creative solution to this. They're now having the party, wearing headphones!

Mumbai is known for pulling off such quirky ideas and doing justice to the city space as well. The live music was shut off at 11pm, according to usual city standard rules and everyone was asked to wear headphones thereafter. The party went on and people were seen doing the Garba with their headphones, while having a ball!

So here's how it worked. Each headphone came with different tracks and each track had a different colour. So if someone wanted a group that was grooving to some Dandiya tunes, they would tune into the same track by identifying the colour, the track was assigned to. Headphone parties are anyway trending, so if they're being inculcated in cultural festivities, cancelling noise pollution, isn't it just fabulous and fun?

Have a look at the video below:

Mumbai is not alien to the concept of silent parties anymore. Since they're common phenomena abroad, they came about to Goa a few years ago, a more obvious party destination in the country. Mumbai had its first ever silent disco way back in 2012, with the β€˜India Goes 3-D', at the Indo-German Urban Mela, in April 2012. The concept was broadcasted through an FM transmitter, where the signals were picked up by wireless headphones, which were distributed to everyone at the party.

Silent parties have now transcended to festivals and efforts are being made to keep these festivals as noiseless as possible which also means all the Garba and Dandiya nights will have no time limit and can go on till late at night. This concept though was taken up by a Mumbai banquet owner, where the party was organised and the inspiration behind this concept was the silent disco scene portrayed in the movie β€˜Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', which was released late last year.Β  So if you want to raise that Dandiya for this commendable effort, definitely take part in this one of a kind Garba-Dandiya party which will be on till October 1st.
