One of the most exciting youngsters in the Indian team, Hardik Pandya swears by living life king size and that exuberance finds expression in his powerful hitting in the middle-order and brisk seam bowling. Whether it's about providing a vital breakthrough or going hammer and tongs at the opposition bowlers, Pandya has established his reputation as an all-rounder Team India has been waiting for all this while.
His capabilities were in full display during India's tour of Sri Lanka where his all-round contribution saw the visitors blank the hosts 9-0 across three Tests, five ODIs and a one-off T20 International. Carrying on his prolific form, the Baroda boy continued to be the nemesis for the opposition as India took an unassailable 3-0 lead against against Australia in the ongoing five-match ODI series.
Scoring at a strike-rate of over 110, Pandya has already amassed 181 runs in the three games to emerge as the leading run-scorer in the series. He has scored two fifties alongside 12 majestic fours and nine towering sixes. In the bowling department, he has five wickets to his name at an economy of under 6. Only three bowlers are currently ahead of him in the list led by Nathan Coulter-Nile who has taken seven wickets.
Whether it's on the field or off it, there are no half-measures for Pandya. Known for his hardwork and dedication to cricket, the 23-year-old is equally committed to the theory of playing hard and partying harder. He appears to be a great guy to hang out with and his camaraderie with Team India mates has been noticed on numerous occasions in the past.

With the ODI series in the bag, Pandya took some time out to chill with his buddies in Bengaluru where India will lock horns with the Aussies in the fourth match. Taking to Instagram, Pandya shared a photo of himself in the company of KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, brother Krunal Pandya and commentator Jatin Sapru.
Before his post, Pandya was also involved in a candid in-flight conversation with Rahul and Axar Patel. During their flight from Indore to Bengaluru, the three cricketers discussed many things ranging from Axar's unique spelling to Pandya's excitement for the City of Gardens.September 26, 2017
In a video shared by the BCCI, Pandya confessed his love for Bengaluru. "I love the city - good food, good restaraunts, good hotels, I love the team hotel - you always take me out. It's better to go out and eat food than sitting at the hotel. Besides, I get to drive your car," Pandya said.
While Pandya revealed his excitement for the city, Axar finally solved the long-standing riddle regarding the unique spelling of his name. "I needed a passport for the Under-19 World Cup, My dad needed urgent documents for the passport and my school- prinicipal spelt my name Axar. Ever since, I have been spelling it that way too," he said.
Though Pandya has arguably been the one hogging the limelight, good rapport between the new-age cricketers - despite all the competition amongst them - is undoubtedly a great sign for Indian cricket.
