MASTUNG: At least 11 people died and 15 were injured when a passenger bus collided with a van in the Dasht area of Mastung district on Saturday, hospital sources said.

The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital, Quetta for treatment, and the bodies are also being shifted to the hospital.

The local government has not yet commented on the death toll and details of the accident.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi  has expressed his condolences with the families of the deceased and mourned the loss of lives in the accident.

In April, at least eight people were killed while 20 others were injured when a coach overturned near Mastung.

The coach was en route to Quetta from Karachi when it plunged into a ravine, said the rescue sources. They added the accident took place when the driver lost control of the steering at Lak Pass near Mastung.
