ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada reiterated on Monday that Shehbaz Sharif, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif?s brother and Chief Minister Punjab, should take over party control.
The PML-N leader while speaking to media in his chambers said that he says simple things but everyone gets cross over them.
?Shehbaz Sharif is an obedient brother and that?s why said that he should take over the party and I still adhere to my statements,? said Pirzada.
He said that there is no double meaning or conspiracy behind his words.
?We don?t object to Nawaz?s leadership but we are concerned how the party will win during the next elections,? said Pirzada.
Earlier in an apparent sign of a revolt, Pirzada suggested that the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz would be the best choice to lead the party.
He said that there will be a vacuum in the party if Shehbaz Sharif was not made the president. Shehbaz Sharif?s advice to the party should be accepted, as he was dealing with the public opinion in a better way, he added.Β
