Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz said on Tuesday that her mother, Kulsoom, has been hospitalised once again.

Responding to a well-wisher on Twitter, Maryam said her mother has been hospitalised again and asked for prayers for her recovery.

She later told Geo News that her mother's condition worsened yesterday, after which she was admitted to hospital.

"I appeal to everyone to pray for her. May Allah grant her health," said Maryam.

Responding to a question about Nawaz Sharif's return, she said "he will come back [to Pakistan] soon."

According to sources close to the matter, Begum Kulsoom was hospitalised late last night after she complained of nausea and pain. Doctors are tending to her at the hospital, where they declared it was nothing critical.

She is undergoing chemotherapy in London after being diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes.

The first chemotherapy session was performed around two weeks ago. The next session is due in first week of November.

Nawaz had been in London to spend time with her wife since October 5 until October 23, when he left for Jeddah en route to Pakistan.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday for the hearing of the corruption cases against him.
