ISLAMABAD: Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Dr Salih Bin Abdullah on Wednesday said that the nation must stand united to rise above personal motives and take decisions in favour of the national interests.

Addressing a Cabinet session, where he was invited by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Abdullah said that countries that were unable to maintain unity and peace fell victim to conspiracies and were destabilized.

"The three conditions of progress are fear of God, sincerity, and deliverance," he said.

The Imam said that it was a great honour for him to receive an invitation from the prime minister, and thanked Abbasi for giving him the opportunity to visit Pakistan.

"I have visited Pakistan numerous times and I consider it home," he said, adding that Pak-Saudi ties are long-standing and strong.

"Pakistan has always supported Saudi Arabia," the Imam said, "and the Kingdom has always stood strong with Pakistan in all circumstances."

Imam-e-Kaaba arrived in Pakistan in the first week of April.
