LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairperson Imran Khan's statement after the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) ruling in the Ayesha Gulalai case is tantamount to clashing with institutions.

The law minister said if Nawaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz pass such statements than it is termed as a clash with institutions.

Referring to the PTI chief as a man who lacks self-respect, Sanaullah said Gulalai was asked to leave Bani Gala and she knows the type of people running the state of affairs in the party.

The law minister also alleged that drugs worth millions were brought into the federal capital, which were consumed in Bani Gala. Sanaullah asked the chief minister of KP to conduct an investigation into allegations of drug smuggling.

"Imran Khan's Pakistan will be a Pakistan of drugs," said Sanaullah.

Sanaullah's criticism of Imran Khan came a day after the ECP dismissed the disqualification reference filed against estranged PTI member and MNA Ayesha Gulalai.

Gulalai, who hails from South Waziristan, had also claimed Imran has links with the Taliban, saying, "all other political parties' rallies are attacked by the Taliban but not Imran's...where music is played".

Imran had filed the reference against Gulalai, seeking to denotify her from the National Assembly seat.

PTI decided that the party will challenge the ECP's decision to not denotify its disgruntled party member and MNA Ayesha Gulalai.
