ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Thursday that Pakistan was facing acute fuel crisis in 2013, but today the country is annually producing 0.1 million barrel oil.
Speaking at an event, Abbasi said that to resolve the challenges of the energy sector, the government needs positive recommendations from the experts, which unfortunately it is not receiving.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government did commendable work for the energy sector which was never done before.
?In a short span of 18 months, we established powerhouses by setting up terminals and pipelines,? he said. ?We became a fertilizer exporter country from fertilizer importing one.?
He asserted that the government?s role is not to do business but to make policies.
The premier said that the government has deregulated CNG and diesel.
