It is no secret that Varun Dhawan has a huge fan following. 

The Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor recently was the center of some unwanted attention from a female fan, reported India Today.

Varun was so disturbed by the event that he had to file a police complaint.

It all started when the beloved Bollywood actor began receiving innumerable WhatsApp messages from a female fan. He blocked the number after the messages did not stop. 

That was the end of it, or so he wished. His stalker was not willing to give up so easily.

A few days after the police complaint was filed, Varun received a call from an unknown person, threatening him that the fan would kill herself if he did not reply to her WhatsApp messages. 

Disturbed by the suicide threat, Varun consulted his legal team and decided to file a police complaint.

"We have received a complaint from Varun Dhawan and are in the process of finding out details about the person who had called him. The number has been switched off ever since the call was made," an officer from the Santacruz police station told the publication.

Varun was last seen in his father David Dhawan's Judwaa 2. He is currently shooting for Shoojit Sircar's October in Delhi.
