It's strange to see how within a short span of time, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' has become a soft target for the fringe elements and controversies surrounding it doesn't seem to be dying anytime soon. From being beaten up, creating political rows, offending the Rajputs to getting beheading threats, the film has been created a storm since the time it was announced.

Every day you hear someone or the other threatening Deepika Padukone or Sanjay Leela Bhansali for their role in the creation of the film. Some disgraced her for playing this role while some have gone ahead and announced a bounty for beheading the director and the actress.
The present state in which the nation finds itself isn't something to be proud of. It's disheartening to see how freedom of expression gets curbed in a democratic nation.
Isn't it ironic that on one hand the Rajputs and the political organisations are fighting for the honour of Queen Padmini and on the other hand they are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to disgracing, thrashing and abusing another female who has played her character on screen?
While such unfortunate events are unfolding, there are also many who are supporting the film and are quite vocal about it. 'Mrs. Funnybones' Twinkle Khanna, who is known for her wit and sharp sense of humour, recently poked fun at the Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who publicly offered a humungous amount of Rs 10 crore to the person who beheads Deepika and Bhansali. Sad state of politics indeed!
Twinkle took to Twitter and posted a witty jibe saying, “The nation wants to know-Is this 10 cr beheading fee inclusive of GST?”
