Sourav Ganguly Has Social Media In Splits After Mistaking Bhajji's Daughter For His Son

Sourav Ganguly is arguably one of the most successful captains in the history of Indian cricket. The former cricketer enthralled us all with his fluent strokeplay, while his leadership skills helped Team India scale new heights in international cricket.

Even after his retirement, his slick verbal volleys in the commentary box have been adorned by the fans of all ages. But, ever since he took over as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), the fans have missed Dada's iconic voice and his honest, yet brutal, assessment of the game.

But, his beautiful words once again echoed on the social media after the 45-year-old replied on one of Harbhajan Singh's post on Twitter. The out-of-favour Indian off-spinner shared an adorable picture of himself in the company of his wife Geeta Basra and cute daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha at the Golden Temple.

Satnam Shri waheguru ji ðððð.. sab nu khush te tandrust rakhna malka ððð #Blessings #blessed #shukrana ððð @Geeta_Basra pic.twitter.com/pTuJQHaY8Q

— Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) November 20, 2017

Reacting to Bhajji's family photo, Ganguly replied: "Beta bahut sundar hai bhajj. bahut pyar dena. (Your son is very beautiful Bhajji, give him a lot of love)”.

@harbhajan_singh ..beta bahut sundar hai bhajj..bahut pyar dena

Soon, realising his gaffe, the former Indian captain apologised for his rare mistake and tried to cover it up with one of the lamest excuses you'll ever hear.

@harbhajan_singh ..ð maf karna beti bahut sundoor hai..getting old bhajj ..

— Sourav Ganguly (@SGanguly99) November 20, 2017

"Maf karna beti bahut sundoor hai..getting old bhajj. (I apologise. I meant your daughter is very beautiful. I am getting old,” he tweeted again.

Well, given the fact that Bengalis are known for using gender-neutral terms, Ganguly's slip of tongue is quite understandable. However, the twitterati wasted no time in expressing their views on the same.
