KARACHI: Keeping up with the latest technology trends, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to reach out to supporters using holography.
The technology will help the party "expand it's outreach" as well as reduce security risks.
Geo News reported that Bilawal's first address using hologram technology will be held in Muzaffarabad and Fateh Jang, while second in Peshawar and Gujar Khan.
In a series of tweets, Bilawal wrote the PPP will be using the hologram technology for the first time across different locations in the country.
He said: ?For the 1st time in #Pakistan #PPP will be using hologram technology! At various locations across the country, today & over the course of the next few days - my holographic invitations for #PPPs 50th foundation day will be shown. #50yearsofPPP #WeMakeHistory #WeAreTheTrendSetters?
He added, ?In order to expand our outreach, I will be delivering holographic speeches in a number of locations today and over the coming months. Use of innovative tech is in line with our vision of seeing a technologically advanced Pakistan. #WeMakeHistory #50yearsofPPP #WeAreTheTrendSetters?
This will be the first time a politician is using holography to deliver speeches in Pakistan but politicians across the world have already started experimenting with this technology.
In February, France?s far-left firebrand Jean-Luc Melenchon embraced technology for the launch of his presidential campaign during a rally in in Lyon, with a 3D hologram of him making his speech appearing at the same time at another rally in Paris.
In 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had used to the hologram technology in his general election campaign making it the first time this technology was used for politics.
The popular use of hologram technology has been for a posthumous performance by the rapper Tupac Shakur at Coachella in 2012.
