FitIt - Heres What I Did In The Third Week Of My Fitbit Challenge

This week I was supposed to train hard so that I could with my fellow colleagues at the marathon this coming Sunday. As you know from my last week’s blog, I was sick and was unable to train effectively in order to beat my competition. Turns out that the relentless Delhi weather made things even worse for me.

From walking 10,000 steps a day for the past 2 weeks, my weekly step count dropped to a total of 5,200 steps. I suffered a severe stomach infection and high fever this week, which confined me to my bed. Remember, my goal was to walk 10,000 steps a day or higher but thanks to the illness, I could barely do half of it all week.

There were some days when I was close to reaching my daily goal last week even though I was sick but it turns out my doctor do not like the fact that I was outdoors when suffering from acute infections. I obviously learnt the lesson. Always listen to your doctor even if it means you might end up losing the challenge. Fitbit’s official blog tells me that even the flu can sideline me from my workout and that’s exactly what happened. The fact that an intense workout can mess up my immune system while being sick leaves me no other choice but to drop out from the Fitbit challenge.

However, we at MensXP do like a test and refuse to give up because we are team players. We managed to find a replacement who will be representing our team and make sure we achieve our goal of beating our competition from Indiatimes and Health Me Up. I won’t lie; I really did want to go above and beyond before the final day so that I could beat the rest, if only this damned illness didn’t get the best of me.
