The Golden Temple Has Been Declared The 'Most Visited' Place In The World
You don't need records to verify something which one can estimate, however, it's great to know that one of the most sacred places on Earth, The Golden Temple is also now the 'most visited' place in the world.
The official declaration came after World Book Of Records, a London based organisation which verifies world records, awarded it to the Golden Temple. The award was given to SPGC Chief Secretary Roop Singh by the General Secretary of the India chapter of WBR, Surbhi Kaul and President of the Punjab Chapter Randeep Singh Kohli.
The award is given every three months and the Golden Temple was declared the recipient on the basis of observations from September 2017. “Lakhs of devotees visit this holy shrine, and the footfall is increasing by the day. This is why the WBR has awarded it. So far, eight places, including Shirdi Sai Baba, Vaishno Devi and Mount Abu, have received this award”, explains Kaul. The SPGC chief explained that the shrine attracts over a lakh devotees everyday and even though the love for the temple has been in place ever since it has existed, the global recognition came after the live telecast of the 'Gurbani kirtan'.

However, all didn't go down well with the All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF). The association wants the certificate to be returned because according to them, the Golden temple does not need this kind of validation. The organisation has also demanded an apology from the committee for accepting it in the first place.
