Samsung has been known to make curved screens in the past and one distinctly remembers when the South Korean company incorporated the idea into the Galaxy Note Edge. It became a standard design in 2015 with the Galaxy S6 Edge and now it seems that Samsung may be going a bit further with the idea.

Well, according to a new patent discovered by LetsGoDigital, Samsung is probably going to make some advancements in the curved design market. You can see from the concept images below that shows a phone with a screen that wraps around the sides completely. We may have seen something like this in a trade show and it seems like the screen will extend 180-degrees to the back. If this design is to come true, there is no way to know how Samsung will prevent accidental touches and prevent the screen from cracking from accidental drops.

If you pay close attention, the second image shows how the phone will be manufactured and this might reaffirm that we may see a phone like this in the near future. Smartphones today already house bigger displays with a smaller body, with minimal bezels and a fully cured display could be the next step forward in smartphone design. Having said that, one should assume that we will not be seeing anything like this anytime soon as some patents never see the light of day. It is possible that we may never see the design in real life.
