No compromise over supremacy of constitution: Saad Rafique
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Sunday that the supremacy of the constitution will not be compromised, adding that the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz is going through a rough phase.
The federal minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of senior politician Javed Hashmi?s book in the capital.
Rafique said that the all the political parties including the opposition worked for the freedom of judiciary although it ?wasn?t to see this day?.
?We thought the dream of achieving judicial freedom has been fulfilled,? remarked Rafique.
On the looming announcement of senior politician Javed Hashmi rejoining the PML-N, Rafique said that veteran politicians should be valued.
?The party was responsible for Javed Hashmi?s departure,? said the federal minister, adding that no one can deny Hashmi?s political value.
Rafique lamented that the party couldn?t nurture democratic values. ?Political parties should be allowed to run their own political course? he added.
Veteran politician Hashmi is likely to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday, where he is to formally announce his re-merger with the PMl-N.
Hashmi, joined the PTI in 2011, after serving the PML-N for a long time. In 2014, he left the PTI after levelling serious allegations against party chairman Imran Khan.
