CM Punjab to inaugurate Beijing Underpass in Lahore today


LAHORE: In a bid to alleviate traffic woes of the residents of the provincial capital, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate on Sunday, the longest passageway known as Beijing Underpass situated on the Canal Road.
The 1.3 km-long mega project, linking to Dharampura to Mughalpura, came to completion and is set for official inauguration ceremony.
The flow of traffic will resume after the inauguration ceremony.
Previously known as Chubacha Underpass, the project had been renamed to commemorate the contribution of China in Pakistan?s development projects.
Earlier in the day, CM Punjab addressed a session through video link. In the session, he spoke regarding the progress of the provincial development projects, including Speedo buses.
He said that after Multan and Lahore, the Speedo bus service will be inaugurated in Lodhran and Bahawalpur.
The CM Punjab said that it was the government?s priority to provide the people of the province adequate and latest mode of transportation.
