In recent news, it’s being speculated that Olympic shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik, both of whom did India proud at the Rio Olympics last year, will be receiving Padma Shri Awards on the occasion of Republic Day, tomorrow.

National Badminton Coach, Pullela Gopichand, too seems to be in the running for an award tomorrow.

Given that each of the three individuals has made the nation proud with their contributions made to, and achievements in sports, we think that the awards would be well-deserved.
