LAHORE: Grandson of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Muneeb Iqbal, dismissed an audio clip viral nowadays on social media, which is said to be of legendary poet reciting his famous poem ?Shikwa?.

In a video, Muneeb clarified that the voice is not of Allama Iqbal. ?People from all across the world are messaging me, but this is not the audio recording of Allama Iqbal,? he remarked.

Rather than sharing false clips of the poet, the people should take efforts to learn from the Iqbal?s vision and philosophy, he advised.

The recorded voice has been identified to be of Muqeem Jamal Nasir reciting his favourite poem.

Speaking on the issue, Nasir remarked that he has uploaded videos of him reciting other Allama Iqbal?s poems before as well. However, someone spread the recording falsely claiming it is Iqbal?s voice, he said.

While social media has made life easier, it has also considerably increased the spread of fake news. People often don?t ensure the authenticity of any clip, video or news before sharing it.
