Twitter Hails 'Wonder Woman' PV Sindhu For Bagging Silver At World Superseries Finals

Ace Badminton player, PV Sindhu has never left a stone unturned in making the nation proud. From becoming the first Indian ever to win the Korea Open Super Series or becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, to proving the world what true sportsman spirit means; Sindhu has always stunned us with her exceptional performance and gestures both on and off the court.

Sindhu has proved her mettle once again by putting up a great show for all those who were glued to their TV sets watching the World Super Series Finals, held in Dubai. Although Sindhu eventually lost the match to Japan's Akane Yamaguchi; there was not a single moment where we didn't feel our hearts skipping a beat or our adrenaline rushing. Facing a strong opponent like Yamaguchi, victory seemed to be tough, but Sindhu put up a commendable fight and gave her a neck-to-neck competition.

Sindhu won the first set in the grueling match that continued for 94 minutes. Yamagachi later picked up pace and won the final by 15-21, 21-12, 21-19. Although, Sindhu lost the match, she became the second Indian female shuttler to finish with a silver medal in the season-ending tournament.

According to The Times Of India, Sidhu said, “It has been a good year and I ended the year with another good tournament and won a silver. I will look to play next year with the same confidence and hope to go further.”

Although Sindhu settled for silver, Twitter couldn't stop praising her for the killer fight she put up. Some even hailed her as 'Wonder Woman' and we absolutely agree with them.

We witnessed a great final and PV Sindhu ALMOST created history.
