One of the finest drivers on the planet and arguably the most successful British Formula One (F1) driver in history, Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly on top of his game. Despite finishing 9th following a clash with rival Sebastian Vettel at the Mexican Grand Prix, the Brit still walked away with top honours, clinching his fourth world title.

He has now joined Vettel and Frenchman Alain Prost on four world titles, only behind legendary Michael Schumacher - the all-time record holder with seven wins - and Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio who notched up five titles. But, while the 32-year-old finished the season on a high, a recent gaffe will surely have the Mercedes chiefs gunning for his head.

Hamilton, who has been driving for Mercedes since 2013, found himself in a spot of bother after his friend Andrew B Bachelor - a Canadian actor and comedian - shared some photos of the Brit's ride on social media.

Bachelor, better known as Kingbach, took to Instagram and posted two images of Hamilton's supercar - a customised LaFerrari - via the story function, adding laughing face emojis while highlighting the fact that the world champion had personalised a rival brand's car.

The LaFerrari model is one of the most prestigious cars in the Ferrari collection and limited to a very small number of models. As a result, the vehicle hit the retail market at prices in excess of 1 million Euros (a little over Rs 7 crore), with many elite clientele missing out on the rare chance to own the model.

Upon production of the supercar, Ferrari had also announced that only 499 models of LaFerrari will ever exist. Apart from Hamilton, celebrities like Floyd Mayweather and Justin Bieber are also amongst the few owners of this beautiful beast.
