Mumbai was his city and Mumbaikars loved him. He was called the Tiger, and when he stood in the crowd, all people could shout was 'Balasaheb Thackeray zindabad'. If you have lived in Mumbai when Shiv Sena Supremo was alive, we don't need to tell you who he was. The man earned his name and despite not owning a political title or running for Chief Minister, he was no less than one.

It all starts with the aerial view of Shivaji Park ground where you can see thousands of people gathered. The camera zooms from the back towards a man wearing his trademark shawl, folding his hands in front of his followers. And you just know that he is Shiva Sena's founder Bal Thackeray. But a closer glance and you realise the man on the screen is none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

It's the uncanny resemblance between the two that takes you back and leaves you stunned. The teaser of much-awaited Bal Thackeray biopic, titled 'Thackeray', is out and we just can't get over it.

Nawazuddin took to Twitter sharing the first look and wrote, “an honour and pride to portray the Real King of the Country on Screen (sic).”

The black and white video keeps you hooked from the start of the frame, you just can't over the hysterical crowd chanting Balsaheb's name and when the camera pans on Thackeray turning into a colour frame, all you feel is goosebumps.

Written and produced by Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut, the teaser was launched by Amitabh Bachchan, who has himself portrayed Bal in 'Sarkar', and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.

Playing Bal Thackeray ain't no game. There are emotions and sentiments connected to this man's story and we can't help but agree that no one could have done it better than Nawaz.
