GILGIT: A strike against the imposition of federal taxes in Gilgit-Baltistan entered its sixth day on Sunday.
The shutter-down strike, called by the Central Association for Traders and National Action Committee, in all four districts of Baltistan resulted in a petrol deficit today.
Imposition of levies without accepting the constitutional rights of the region is unacceptable, said leaders of the business community.
A caravan comprising of hundreds of cars left from Skardu to participate in the protest against the levies.
Rallies from four districts of the region ? Gilgit, Skardu, Shigar, and Kharmang ? will participate in the ongoing protest.
