RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited the North Waziristan Agency and was briefed on the current security situation in the region, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). 

The army chief was also briefed regarding the rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) and the progress of socio-economic development projects in the area.

General Bajwa visited the newly constructed border forts and the fencing installed in the agency and appreciated the efforts of the troops deployed in the region for their speedy and quality work for border security measures. 

On arrival, the chief of army staff was received by General Officer Commanding Miranshah and laid a wreath at the martyrs's monument, added ISPR. 

Lieutenant General Khalid Nazir Butt, Commander Peshawar Corps was present during the visit
