The Telangana CM Is On A Thanksgiving Trip And His Gifts Include An 11 Kg Crown And Pure Gold Moustache

Telangana CM is going to offer gifts worth around Rs. 5.6 Crores to various gods and goddesses on his thanksgiving trip to Tirumala Temple. Earlier, K Chandrasekhara Rao had pledged ornaments and gifts to various gods and goddesses if his campaign for a separate state of Telangana was successful.

According to sources, KCR will also gift a solid gold ornament to Lord Balaji at Tirupati and a nose-stud to Goddess Padmavati. This is the first time that Mr. Rao will visit the historic temple town of Tirupati after the separation of Telangana from Andhra.

The hoardings, which have been put up in and around the temple complex, feature slogans in favor of KCR, reading, “Nirupedala needa” (saviour of the poorest of the poor), “Avineeti Raabandula Simha Swapnam” (nightmare for the corrupt eagles of the state), “Janamejaya Maharaju” and Jana Netha” (king of the people and leader of the people).”

Many critics are also now pointing out that it was a personal vow of the now CM to offer ornaments and jewelry, yet the government is picking up the tab which in turn will cost the taxpayer around Rs. 5.6 crores.

This is not the first time that KCR is presenting expensive gifts to temple deities. In October, KCR gifted a 12Kg crown worth Rs. 3.5 Crores to Goddess Bhadrakali at Wrangal. Following this, in November, KCR moved to a new home spread over nine acres which cost almost Rs. 50 crores.

KCR’s current avatar is in stark contrast to the pro-poor figure he was hailed as while campaigning for elections. With so much money being spent on idols and gold plated figures we hope that KCR doesn’t get stuck with a mirage of his extravagant image in a state with so much poverty.
