You might find innumerable stories about people's inhumane, selfish and insensitive attitude towards anything and everything under the sun; but it's rare to find people truly caring and going to extreme lengths for others.Β

How far can one go to help someone? Well, whatever your answer is, we are sure it doesn't come anywhere close to what this train in Russia is doing, just to help a 14-year-old girl go to school.Β
The Saint Petersburg-Murmansk train has now diverted its route to introduce a new stop in the remote area of Poyakonda, just so it can pick and drop the 14-year-old Karina Kozlova and her grandmother. According to a report in BBC, the trains on the route used to stop only to pick up and drop off the railway staff. This meant that Karina and her grandma had to rely on the train's schedule to reach school or miss it.Β

For decades, Karina's grandma Natalia Kozlova was making long trips to take Karina and other children in the Poyakonda locality to school.Β Β
βEvery morning, I waited for the children by the village kiosk, and then we walked 1km to the Poyakonda station,β Natalia reportedly said. She further added, βWe took the train to the Knyazhaya station, picking up other children along the wayβ¦then took the bus to school. After school, we took the long-distance train home.βΒ

Thankfully, with the introduction of this stop along the Saint Petersburg-Murmansk route, Karina and her grandma won't have to wait until the end of the day to reach home.
Karina happens to be the only child still travelling from Poyakonda to her school and we are sure this move has not eased Karina's travel but also melted millions of hearts, which are currently reading the story.
In 2016, Japan Railways decided to keep the abandoned Kami-Shirataki train station in Hokkaido operational, so that a girl could attend her school every day.
