During one such single, it was calculated that the Kohli ran at the speed of 25 kmph between the creases and Manjrekar instantly compared the Delhi-born to the greatest sprinter of all-time, Usain Bolt, who, by the way, can reach up to the speed of 37 kmph. Manjrekar further credited the Indian cricketer of running with such velocity despite having so much of extra weight of the pads and other protective gear along with the bat in his hands. Goa CM Sends Midnight Meals For Stranded Air India Passengers & They Can't Stop Thanking Him Now

Late last night when passengers travelling on the Goa-Mumbai Air India flight found themselves stranded in Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, due to a several-hour delay in their flight take-off, they were left distressed and fuming. The passengers began raising slogans within the airport premises after a four-hour delay. At this point, a Goa Forward Party office-bearer Ketan Bhatikar, who was one of the passengers on the delayed flight, decided to reach out to Goa CM Pramod Sawant and seek his intervention in the matter. Stranded at #Mumbai's #ChhatrapatiShivaji airport late on June 13 night for several hours, protesting passengers of an #AirIndia Bombay to Goa flight were offered free meal from an airport restaurant at the instance of Goa CM #PramodSawant, a passenger said. What makes this all the more special is the fact that Sawant was not even in Goa at that point. He managed to get all this done sitting in the national capital where he was on a work trip. Out of nowhere, the signature tune of India's first television provider begins to play out, and the iconic 'eye' logo, always visible to the right of the screen, begins to materialise in our mind's eye. The kind of nostalgia the combination of these two simple elements of the channel are capable of inducing is something every millennial will be able to relate to. However, Doordarshan and its over half a century-old logo is now trying to salvage its withering spirit, by reinventing and revamping itself. To keep up with the demands of the changing times, and establish a strong youth connect, Prasar Bharati had announced a 'logo design contest' in 2017. They received close to 10,000 entries for the same, out of which five logos have been shortlisted. It will be good to recall that the iconic “eye” logo of Doordarshan was designed by Devashis Bhattacharyya and appeared on television screens for the very first time on April 1, 1976. Having a six-pack is something that every guy aspires when it comes to having a good physique. If you are reading this article, it is highly possible that even you have searched something like this on the internet: 'How to lose belly fat?' 'How to get six-pack abs?' 'Easy way to build six-pack abs?' The search results that you may have gotten would be of fat burning drinks or fat loss exercises or belly fat burning techniques. Like everyone, you do those things and the end result is... nothing! © Getty Images It is high time you get it into your brain that there is no magical fix that can help you get a six-pack in a week. It needs hard work and dedication. Start with these basic steps: 1. Go On A Diet Everyone has abs, as it is the part of human physiology. The only reason people are not able to see their abs are for two reasons: a. They have a lot of body fat covering it b. They do not have developed abdominal muscles Let's cover the first part here. The reality is that you need to be on a diet to bring your body fat percentage down. At the same time, you would want to preserve the muscle mass you already have. To calculate the number of calories you need to eat for fat loss, simply multiply your body weight in pounds with 13. To preserve your muscle, have one gram of protein per pound of your body weight. If you weigh 160 lbs., this would mean: a. Calories = 160x13 = ~2100 calories b. Protein = 160 grams 2. Do Weight Training You need to lift weights to hold on to your muscle when you lose fat. © Getty Images Make sure that you are doing compound exercises aka exercises that engage your core, and are moving more than one muscle group at a time so that you build your core. You can also include direct ab training with and without abs to build them further ahead. 3. Lose Around 0.5 To 1% Of Your Body Weight Every Week You will definitely get started on a diet once you plug in those numbers from step #1 and start losing weight. Then, there will be two questions: a. How much weight to lose? b. How fast to lose it? To reveal a six-pack, you need to have around 10 to 12% body fat. So, until you reach that number, you will have to dig deep. To find your body fat number, you can use a lot of tools like online calculators or Inbody machines. Ideally, you should be losing around 0.5 to 1% of your body weight every week. If things are faster than this, you could eat some extra calories. If you are comfortable with it, you can pick up the pace a bit. If things have slowed down, you can either calculate the numbers again on your new body weight or you can simply drop 100-150 calories and things should pick up. So, go do the work and follow a plan instead of finding the next quick-fix for six-pack abs. ANABOLIC STEROIDS. 2) Gym Trainers: Most gym trainers are a pain in the ass, as they will sell you literally anything just to pull money from your pocket. For them, money matters and why? Because through your money they can buy their steroids. It's like a toxic business circle. Let's understand a few facts: 1) You can build a good physique without taking steroids. As you read the disadvantages it can really harm you in many ways. 2) You are not a professional bodybuilding athlete and your earnings do not depend on it. 3) The steroid lifestyle is not sustainable cannot be done on a regular basis by many of you. 4) You need a huge amount of money in your bank account, to deal with regular checkups and various other requirements. 5) You will lose your gained muscles as soon as you come off steroids. Being natural will help you to keep those muscular gains forever. Well, it looks like he attempted to stop her from playing the game. As bizarre as it sounds, we hate to admit that it's a real thing. A woman in the UAE has sought a divorce from her husband over a battle royale game. Welcome to 2019? According to Gulf News, the director of the social center at Ajman Police, Captain Wafa Khalil Al Hosani told that they recently received this case where a woman in her 20s wanted to divorce her husband over not being allowed to play PUBG Mobile. Apparently, the husband noticed his wife's increasing addiction to the game. He then decided to stop her from playing it so she could focus on the family. The woman, according to the captain, justified her demand for divorce by saying that she was being deprived of her right to choose her means of entertainment. She said, “she derived pleasure and comfort from the game”. © Tencent She also noted that her game timings were well under limits, and she had disabled the chat option to stay away from strangers during the games. If you think this is another post that is going to give you a 'not-my-fault' card and blame carbs, hormones, sugar, junk, insulin, etc. for you being overweight, pay twice the amount of attention. Let me first put out the most important fact on the table. Who do you think is responsible for you being fat? YOU. Nothing and no one else. So firstly, stop with the blame game. You may still be thinking that "no, it is the hormones. I eat healthy all the time. How can it be?" Read through and you will realize how it is still you. The very basic of weight loss or weight gain is calorie balance. Eat more and expend less, you gain weight. Eat less and expend more, you lose weight. As simple as that. So the ONLY rule to lose weight is to burn more calories and eat fewer calories. Simply put, 'Eat less move more.' So, how do you figure that you are getting fat even if though you are eating healthy? 1. You Indulge In Mindless Eating Humans have evolved with survival instincts and this survival has one main food instinct which says 'see food, eat food.' I am not lying. You can try this experiment yourself. In your working space, fill a bowl up with chocolates and keep it someplace where people often visit, ideally by the printer or the water dispenser. © Unsplash Now check the same bowl towards the end of the day. There is a good chance that there would be little to no chocolates in there. Then, ask your co-workers casually what have they eaten all day. Almost nobody will mention chocolates on that list. Not that they want to lie to you, their brain simply does not register the food they eat subconsciously. The same translates to portion sizes and eating while not paying attention. Look at the computer screen or TV while eating and you might as well finish off an entire pizza, as your brain does not respond to the fullness signal as your attention is elsewhere. 2. Under-Reporting & Over-Estimation There is research which shows that people who keep food journals are terrible at reporting their food intakes and even worse at estimating their energy expenditure. © Unsplash A 1992 study showed that people under-reported food intake by 47% and over-reported energy expenditure by 51%. Considering that you eat as per the normal food guidelines and do around an hour of activity per day, your intake would come to around 2200 kcals and expenditure would be 400 kcals. But as per the study, the same example above meant people reported that they ate around 1200 kcals and had an expenditure of around 800 kcals. That is a huge margin of error and now you can see where you might be going wrong too. 3. Cheat Days Do Not Count This is usually the norm that even though you may be eating well or mindfully during the week, every weekend ends up being a deserved cheat day. © Unsplash Firstly, if you are dieting in the first place and you are above the normal range of body fat%, i.e. 10 to 15%, nothing about your cheat day is 'deserved'. And more often than not, these unaccounted cheat days are a shit ton of calories down your throat that needs to be stored somewhere. They are not going to magically disappear into thin air. It's that time of the year again when I go through my ritual of sending out PSAs to my non-Christian brethren to not go around wishing people a 'Happy Good Friday' and give high-fives saying “Yeah! Good Friday wala long weekend! Whooo!” The sad part is that despite my numerous attempts, through the years, there are always those select handful of morons who manage to fill my Whatsapp chats and social media feeds with a “Hey Marina, Happy Good Friday. Have a good one.” I can't even… via GIPHY Honestly, the mind just reels at the stupidity! What does it take for these people to get it? So, this year, I am taking my PSA responsibilities to the next level and am writing this article, to inform all you wonderful people, that walking around wishing Christians a 'Happy Good Friday' is probably the rudest and most disrespectful thing you could ever do. Now, I firmly believe that no one is doing this intentionally. Because if you ARE doing that, then my friend, the Lord save you. But I do believe that's it's clearly a simple matter of lack of information, which is making people say so. I mean, I get it. It has the word 'good' in it, so naturally, it's something to be celebrated, right? Sorry guys, but no. It, in fact, is one of the most solemn and sorrowful days for the Christian community across the globe. © Icon Productions Good Friday commemorates the day Jesus Christ was crucified to death in the most brutal way imaginable. Now, I don't want to go into the whole logistics where the Oxford English Dictionary states that 'good' in this particular context, refers to “a day or season observed as Holy by the Church.” Instead, I want to show you the bigger picture and the deeper meaning behind Good Friday. We Christians firmly believe that Christ sacrificed himself to show his love for mankind. On Good Friday, we remember, according to 1 John 1:10, the day Jesus willingly died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. All hope was lost, Satan was clearly having a party and evil had triumphed. But a few days later, something happened that turned the tables around. As terrible as the day was, Good Friday paved the way for mankind's salvation, which is marked as 'good' by us Christians. I recently read an interesting comment on a Facebook post saying that every second person on the street is a fitness expert today. As absurd and ridiculous as it may sound, it is unfortunately true. Today, every person who hits the gym and manages to lose some fat or gain some muscle becomes a guru instantly. Add to that the influence some people may have due to the nature of their work, and you got a boiling hot disaster recipe. Here are some examples of these common disasters you may be following as a fitness enthusiast: 1. Actors As much as they would be in shape or transition with drastic transformations between movies, you've got to understand that they get paid to look a certain way and present a peculiar physique for a film. They might not always do it the right way or the safe way. 2. Fashion Models These are again that lot who get paid to look a certain way. And they take it to such an unhealthy extent that they sometimes starve, forcibly puke out food from their bodies or do hours and hours of cardio at a stretch to look skinny. Most of them even end up with eating disorders and looking like a hanger with clothes on the ramp. Fitness advise from them? No, thank you. 3. Bloggers These are the kind of people that companies, who want to push out useless products, reach out to. They will write a post or shoot a video or put an amazingly awesome visual and then insert a 'promo code' towards the end. You fall for it and pay for the product. The company pays these bloggers. And the vicious cycle continues. Most of the time these products are useless supplements like fat burners, herbal teas, meal replacement shakes. Read: The 'ONLY' supplements you will ever need. 4. The Bro At The Gym Signs to identify this bro: a. Sips on BCAAs at the gym b. Constantly talks about bodybuilders and compares his physique to their c. Carries five different recovery and intra-workout supplements with him (do not worry, he will show it to you) d. Preaches you should only eat clean and eat boiled chicken e. Wears a tank top all the time f. Wears a back supporting belt for doing bicep curls with 10-kilo dumbbells See this guy? Stay away from him. 5. Your Neighbor Your neighbour pretty much has an opinion and expertise on all the topics in the world, and fitness is at the very top of it. They claim that they have the knowledge of what to eat, how to control blood sugar, how you should go for a walk early in the morning for fat loss, and many more ignorant claims like these. Exchange a hello once in a while but never discuss your fitness regime with them. Unless they are a practitioner in the industry. Close to 24 per cent of players are admitting to playing for more than seven hours a week, whereas over 11 per cent of them say they indulge for more than 12 hours in a given week. It doesn't stop there, as 35 per cent of gamers say they've missed out on spending time with their friends or going out on a date. Struggling To Put On Muscle? Then Stop Making These 5 Mistakes

If you want to build muscle, there is a chance your gym guruji tells you this: 1. Train to failure ALL the time 2. Train one muscle group for hours always 3. Train hard till you are done After a while, it frustrates you when you apply the above things and you train hard, but you don't see any results. Well, I can understand because I have done these in the past. Guess what? You need to do some smart work and not just hard work. If you are doing any of the below things, take a step back and change things: 1) Doing Too Much Volume The first mistake is doing too much volume. The volume of your workout = sets x load x reps. Your total workload is the key to muscle growth, but doing too much actually hinders recovery and will stop your progress. Most people benefit from ~10-20 sets/muscle/week. Your actual volume depends on various individual factors like age, training experience, genetics, etc. A good rule of thumb is dropping your volume by 1/3rd to half to take a step back and slowly push it up to 20 sets per muscle group per week. 2) Doing Junk Volume Aka Very Light Lifting Along with too much volume, what's equally wrong is not going hard enough on each set. If you have 4 reps left for failure, you will be able to do much more volume because each set is so damn easy. I recommend doing each set ~1-2 reps from failure but sometimes more, sometimes less. 3) No Structured Plan If you don't have a plan and just walk into a gym, you may make progress. That doesn't mean your progress can't be better. When you have a plan, you reduce guesswork and can manage variables better. Have a set training plan for 4-6 weeks and get stronger in it than doing random workouts. 4. Doing 'Bro'- Splits It's okay to start with one muscle per day but not suitable for long-term progress. You either do too much volume which leaves you sore for your other sessions during the week or you are limiting growth by not taking advantage of elevated muscle protein synthesis. 5) Chasing The Pump Via Lightweights: Progressive overload means you do more work, and thus more volume, over time. Getting a pump causes muscle growth, but you will reach a point at which you have to increase the load/reps. So focus on doing more volume over time and do pump work at the end of your workouts and not your entire workout. 6) Not Applying A Wide Range Of Rep Scheme: Lastly, scientific research has shown that muscle growth can happen in a variety of rep ranges. Training in rep ranges outside of 8-12 reps can help you train different capacities and help push for progressive overload. So you can split your training in a broad spectrum from 3-30 reps. Our daily essentials are better than what they were a few years ago, even our cars and bikes have gotten better, proving that we aim for betterment. In fitness, sadly, we tend to take two steps forward and three steps back. New data and hundreds of scientific studies emerge everyday disproving the old beliefs held by the bodybuilders of the past and present. Still, people do not want to use their brains and simply buy into the hype. © MensXP Spoiler alert: It is not those magic supplements or magic workouts making the bodybuilders huge and jacked. Here are some fitness trends that should have stopped in 2018 (at least, stop them in 2019): 1. Muscle Confusion Workouts Your muscles are smart. If you do the same workout, they won't respond. Switch your exercises every four weeks. Your muscles won't understand how to respond. They will grow then. This theory is as good as saying, study Chemistry for a Math test. Your brain will be confused and you top the class. Plain stupid. Muscles grow primarily through mechanical overload. To grow muscle, you have to become strong. © MensXP If you switch your exercises every 3-4 weeks, you are picking a new movement. You need time to adapt to the movement. After some time you will gain strength. When that time comes, you will do the same stupidity and switch exercises. 2. Stop Buying BCAAs & Fat Burners We all want results quickly. Just a couple of years before 2010, when Internet education was not much, this prominent scam was running rampantly. Someone from Nigeria was dying and of all the people they knew, wanted to give you the money they had in savings. Some even millions of dollars. The catch was that you needed to send them some $10,000 so they could pay the taxes and transfer fees. Funnily enough, many people willingly jumped into the scam. Why? Simply because they were promised to become rich very quickly. The same thing goes with these so-called magical supplements. They promise you overnight results. Burn fat overnight. Get jacked overnight. People shout back, 'Take my money.' Time and again, data has shown that these supplements do nothing at best. There is data suggesting BCAAs could actually lead to muscle loss. Suddenly, these people become gurus and have a herd of sheep worshipping them. What really matters for weight loss? A sustained calorie deficit. The laws of thermodynamics dictate changes in body stores and weight. Eat carbs or do keto, does not make any difference. Pick a diet that helps you adhere to a calorie deficit. Sometimes things can go terribly wrong with even the best of us and no one can understand this better than Johnny English and a bunch of cops in Bulgaria, who learnt this in the 'spiciest' way possible. These Bulgaria cops were sent on a super important mission of dispersing a crowd of protestors outside the Bulgarian parliament, in the capital Sofia. The cops tried their best but thanks to the weather, they came back home with teary-eyes and a video which is now going viral as an epic fail. via GIPHY The cops initially tried stopping them by using barricades, but when things went out of control they decided to use pepper spray on them. However, the cops failed to check the direction in which the wind was blowing. So, the moment they sprayed it in the air, the pepper spray went into their eyes and the cops were seen running away while rubbing their eyes in pain. They had to later rinse their eyes with water. Protein Powders Are Not Steroids & Indians Need To Stop Believing This Stupid Myth

Whether you are a casual health enthusiast, sportsperson, athlete, powerlifter or hardcore gym freak, you all know the importance of adequate protein in your daily diet. While the average person may not need as much protein as a sportsperson or hardcore gym freak, that doesn`t mean that they are getting optimal amounts of protein in their diet. © Thinkstock Images International society of sports nutrition recommends 1.4-2gm of protein per kg of bodyweight for athletes. This means 112gm -160gm of protein a day for a 80kg athlete. This requirement can go even higher depending on these things: 1. If someone is training hard frequently along with a job that requires much physical work. 2. If someone trying to lose fat without losing much muscle. 3. To improve body composition. 4. If someone using Steroids (PEDs). First priority to get all this protein should be from real foods which have complete amino acid profile such as chicken, mutton, lamb, fish, cheese, eggs or milk. People who are vegetarian are left with only limited options .On top of that if they have a busy lifestyle where they can`t eat as much solid food will have to rely on protein powder supplements. Another situation where reliance on protein powders (Whey isolate, Soy, Pea,Rice) may increase is when someone is suffering from “Lactose intolerance”. It is estimated that 60-70 % of Indians are lactose intolerant with south Indians being more affected (66.6%) than north Indians (27.4%). Lactose intolerance is a condition where the affected person is unable to digest a sugar called lactose present in Dairy products. As a result, affected person gets bloating, painful stomach cramps, gas or vomiting. While whey concentrate may have some amount of lactose present in it, whey isolate reduces it to much lower level which most people may get comfortable with. Even better option for people with lactose intolerance is using protein powders made from Soy, Pea, Rice or a blend of any of the three. They are again considered high quality proteins. -As a pure vegetarian who`s not using any Performance enhancing drugs, it becomes really challenging to get below 10% body fat without losing muscle mass. And any athlete who has worked hard day and night (with training and diet) to achieve that few pounds of muscle will not want to lose it very easily. Getting to extremely low body fat levels (Stage/photo-shoot condition) require calorie restriction and very little amount of carbs and fats in diet. However, most vegetarian high quality protein sources will also give you quite high amount of carbs and fats along with it, which is fine when you are maintaining or bulking but not ideal when cutting. © Thinkstock Images Every 3gm of protein from milk in 100ml will also give you 5-6gm of carbs with it. Now do the math of how much carbs you will be getting in order to complete 30gm of protein milk. The same amount of carbs you can better get from solid food when on a restrictive diet to remain full for longer. Similarly trying to get 18gm of protein from cheese will also give you 25gm of fat with it. While the same amount of protein you can get from casein protein scoop giving you almost negligible to 2gm of fat. People who are non vegetarians or eat eggs can do a cut/fat loss protocol quite easily since they can consume lean protein sources such as egg whites and chicken breast having no fat. The same can`t be said for pure vegetarians. This time for allegedly strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor and criminal mischief against an English civilian during his stay in Miami, Florida. According to MMA Fighting, Conor McGregor, the former UFC two-division champion, was charged on two counts for allegedly smashing the civilian's phone on Monday, outside a famous Miami Beach hotel as confirmed by the Miami Beach Police Department. Ever since MS Dhoni called time on his Test career, the Indian selectors have been busy trying to fill in the void. They've tried Wriddhiman Saha who did quite an impressive job in the longest format. Then, we saw the ascension of Dinesh Karthik to the Indian team. And now, young Rishabh Pant is being looked upon as Dhoni's worthy successor behind the stumps. Amongst the available options, Dhoni, himself, had backed Pant as his potential successor when he dropped himself from the Indian squad for the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Australia last November. For a man who considers Dhoni his idol, Pant appeared to have thrived in the limited opportunities he has got in the Indian team so far. His batting prowess surely makes him a valuable addition to the Indian team down the order. But, sadly, the same can't be said about his wicket-keeping skills. At the age of just 21, Pant is still young and continues to learn the art of wicket-keeping. However, with the ICC World Cup around the corner, the margin for error is very low for the youngster. © AP While many have advocated Pant's case in the recent past, the 4th One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia gave a stark reminder why he is still a work in progress as far as wicket-keeping is concerned. The clash in Mohali saw India losing, what is being deemed as an unlosable game, as Australia chased down the fifth-highest target (359 runs) in ODI cricket. From misreading the conditions to missing key chances, there were a flurry of mistakes Indian cricket team find themselves pondering over as Aussies fought back from being 0-2 to 2-2 in the five-match series. While Kedar Jadhav missed a tough chance at deep midwicket in the 47th over, Shikhar Dhawan put down an absolute dolly at mid-off in the same over. However, amongst the lost opportunities, Pant's blunders were arguably the ones that ended up hurting India's chances the most at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium. In the 39th over, Peter Handscomb had already notched up his maiden ODI hundred and was eager to take the momentum away from India when he decided to step out of the crease, looking for a big shot. Realising Handscomb's intentions, Kuldeep Yadav shortened his length and ensured the batsman missed the ball. While Pant should hardly be blamed for the last opportunity as there was actually a spike in replays, the other three blunders undoubtedly proved costly for his team's chances to win the game and seal the series. But if you can't do it correctly in crunch situations during a key clash, then, the wise thing would be to stick to the basics, rather than being flamboyant - a lesson Pant must learn to live up to his billing as Dhoni's successor behind the stumps. -
