Nawaz's son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar is already present at the court.
Following his disqualification by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case on July 28, 2017, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed three references ? Al-Azizia Steel Mills, Flagship Investment Ltd and Avenfield properties in London ? against the Sharif family.
At the last hearing of the case on February 13, Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir had rejected the suspects' request to be exempted from appearance owing to a visit to London.
Relatedly, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court struck down a specific clause of the Elections Act 2017, which led to Nawaz's re-ascent as party president following his disqualification. As a result, Nawaz has been de-notified as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president.
