The Man Who Recorded 'Yanny Or Larel' Finally Reveals What He Actually Said

If you are still undecided about what's actually being said in the Yanny or Laurel video, Jay Aubrey Jones, 64, is here to clear it once and for all. The voice recording artist recorded the word 'laurel' back in 2007 and he's come clean as to what he actually said at the time.

He told Time: "I recorded my batch of words and I thought that was that. I thought, well, it couldn't be that huge. Then I heard the recording again online and I realised what a brouhaha this whole thing was."

Jay recorded 'Laurel' and not 'Yanny' almost a decade back and that means this ambiguous audio bite has been on the internet for more than a decade.

LAUREL

Jay Aubrey hails from New Jersey in US and is a trained pronunciation artist. He had produced this audio for Vocabulary.com at the time.
