There's no dearth of career advice on the internet. From self-styled career counselors on Linkedin to that guy in the office who just got a big promotion, it seems everybody is dripping with pearls of wisdom when it comes to how to be successful in your professional life. But if there's one guy who is definitely qualified to impart that wisdom, it's Bill Gates.

The kind of money Gates still earns, makes you wonder if anyone else is ever going to see the kind of money, that this guy has seen in his life. And yet, he's humble and grounded and it's incredibly heart-warming to see him speak with so much life experience behind him.

Recently, while speaking with LinkedIn's Daniel Roth, Gates explained what the millennials need to do in order to be always in demand professionally.

“I do think of basic knowledge of the sciences, math skills, economics — a lot of careers in the future will be very demanding for those things. It's not necessarily that you'll be writing code, but you need to understand what can engineers do and what can they not do,” Gates told Roth.

While a lot of professionals often concentrate on a lot of supplementary skills, what they often forget is that critical thinking and a basic knowledge of these particular subjects is often the foundation for complex problems in their professional lives. And although you might not want to go back to school, it's never too late to pick up a learning course and make improvements in your professional life.
