Kabir Khan's ambitious project '83' has taken off with Ranveer Singh in the lead. The movie is set in the backdrop of the historic 1983 cricket world cup and Ranveer will play the character of  the legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev.

As per the recent reports in Mumbai Mirror, stellar actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to join the star cast of the movie and will play the role of Ranveer's coach.

In a previous interview, director Kabir Khan shared his thoughts on making this sports biopic. 'I had no idea then that from that day on cricket in India would change forever. As a filmmaker, the journey to that win, filled with the raw energy and sheer passion of a young Indian team, is probably one of the most exciting stories I have worked on." The film is currently in the initial stages of filming and is probably going to be slated for an August 2019 release. This will be Nawazuddin's second movie with the talented director as they have previously worked on 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' together. With two amazing actors helming the ambitious project, this movie is bound to be a success.
