'France may have won the World Cup, but Croatia won everyone's hearts' – I have read this at least 15 times since last night because it's true. Croatia stunned everyone in this World Cup with their performance and by actually reaching the finals.

But, I have a better alternative for the above statement – 'France may have been the real winner this year at the FIFA World Cup but the memes and tweets truly won our hearts', because obviously, everything is incomplete without everyone talking about it online and making fun of it.

So, here's a recap of the exciting match that even people who don't watch football thoroughly enjoyed, because yay football!

Let's start with probably the most powerful man in the world and his huge umbrella. The Russian football team didn't make it to the finals, but President Vladimir Putin still knew how to show everyone he's still the boss with his huge, umm umbrella.

Next, we have the Croatian President who has become a fan favourite throughout this World Cup simply because of her enthusiasm for her team.

Another important thing to note here is the contrast between her country losing and Russia losing, she's still excited and happily hugging everyone, whereas Putin looks like a sore loser, who can't believe his country lost, especially when they were the host.
