Varun Dhawan's Pink Shirt Has A Surprising Detail That A Lot Of Us Ignore

Way before Varun Dhawan stepped into the move biz, his father David Dhawan was re-defining fashion with every movie he directed/produced. Truth be told: 'Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya', 'Jodi No. 1', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' were way ahead of their sartorial eras, after all. But this is like starting the conversation in the living room and ending it in the bedroom (of the same house).
Because in no time, his son, Varun Dhawan started to give fashion a new meaning through his outings and movies, one outfit at a time (as he became an actor) and even today, is always game for taking his style for a spin, even if it's for just a small apparel detail.
From pop-coloured kurtas, PVC jackets, mesh bombers, metallic bottoms to even just a plain, simple graphic T-shirt — Varun has given celebrity menswear a face of its own.

So well, when he recently uploaded a still from 'Sui Dhaaga' (his upcoming movie) on his Instagram, featuring a perfect summer-shirt (read: linen) with a contrasting placket, we were quick to notice the small detail and bring it onto the pedestal.
For a fact, contrasting plackets have been a major part of menswear for a long time, but are hardly given any recognition, really. Or shall we say, importance?

As seen here, Varun's solid pink linen shirt bears a print on the inside of the placket, going all the way up and around the collar. What's to notice, however, is that the print is on the flip side of the shirt and gains visibility only if you open a button or leave your collar button, unbuttoned.
However, note: While the contrast on the flip side of the placket on Varun's shirt is quite contrasting, a few shirts also come with a muted approach. Like this one here:

It won't be strange to mention, that this detail is quite prevalent in a lot of polo T-shirts in the market too. Since most of the polo T-shirts worn by men are solid coloured, a contrasting placket gives them a lot of personality.

All we're saying is, the devil really is in the details. And while picking a shirt for any occasion, don't be that devil who doesn't notice the details.
