Nawazuddin Siddiqui's 'Manto' trailer just dropped and it is brilliant AF. Based on the life of the famous author Saadat Hasan Manto, this movie is a highly anticipated one.

Directed by Nandita Das, the movie has already been creating waves at the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

It was 10 years ago when Nandita made her directorial debut with 'Firaaq' featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead and now, they are all set to entertain us again with a movie that will leave you stunned.

It goes without saying that whatever Nawazuddin touches, turns into gold. The man is ingenious, gifted and the trailer of 'Manto' proves just that.

The clip takes us back to the post-independence era and begins with Manto (Nawaz) standing in a courtroom. He is unapologetic, rebellious and simply questions that why can't he present the truth the way it is? He states how every story of his shows what the society is really like.

“Sawal yeh hai, jo cheez jaisi hai usse waise hi pesh kyu na kiya jaye?” says Manto at the beginning of the trailer, raising a very simple yet a very valid question.

The case filed against him is based on his popular story- 'Thanda Ghosht' in Lahore after he moved to Pakistan.

The film takes us through his journey where we witness the most difficult four years of Manto's life during the India-Pakistan partition.

The trailer digs deep into the famous author's philosophy, his perspective to look at life and his representation of women in the stories he wrote.

If you have read Manto's stories or have heard about him, then you might know that the writer was often charged with obscenity, because he often wrote the harsh truth and was unapologetic about it. 

The pathos of his views and thoughts are portrayed in the most wonderful manner by both Nandita and Nawaz.

By looking at the trailer itself, we bet there is no one else in the industry that could have done justice with 'Manto' like Nawaz it.
