KJo Is Making 'Dostana 2' & We're Praying It's Not A Cliché-Filled Fest Like Its Predecessor
Karan Johar's 'Dostana' in 2008 was one of the most cliché films ever made. Despite the number of hot people in the movie, it was a stereotype-fest that was just painful to watch.
Yea, the makers feebly tried to do something different with the whole 'gay love' concept, and sure, we are thankful for the iconic Desi Girl number and the unforgettable shot of Priyanka Chopra in a golden swimsuit, but they ended up going full throttle on a pigeonhole plotline that just killed the movie in the end.
TBH, we love Karan Johar, but man, does he go overboard with the drama sometimes.

While 'Dostana' did make good money at the box office, it didn't really need a sequel.

As per the latest reports, Karan is all set to announce the second instalment of the movie. The script is ready and Karan has roped his new favourite, Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra.

With the script ready and the two leads locked in, all they need now to get started is the second male lead for the movie. However, who can fit the role isn't the question, but what will the script be this time, is what we are interested in.
Like the previous instalment, this one will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani as well.

For those who haven't watched the movie, 'Dostana' is a love triangle rom-com starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.
Two men who need a place to live, end up renting rooms in a woman's house by pretending to be a gay couple, as her aunt does not want her niece living with single men.
As you can imagine, both fall for her but turns out she is in love with her boss, Sunny Deol. A series of hilarious instances unfold as they try to sabotage her relationship with him.
The only way 'Dostana 2' is not doomed to failure, is if the makers steer clear of the obvious and actually try to work on a creative plotline, which does not thrive on the stereotype.
Here is hoping for a sensible script and not something vague like its predecessor.
