Earlier this year, Bangladesh cricket team recorded a famous victory against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy - a tri-nation tournament which was eventually won by India. But, more than their win, it was Bangladesh's infamous 'nagin dance' that grabbed all the limelight. After beating hosts Lanka, the Bangladeshi cricketers ran amok on the field before unveiling their provocative moves.

Since then, their unsporting gesture has provided enough arsenal to their critics to poke fun at them. On 20th September, the very 'nagin dance' they used to mock the Lankans came back to haunt them following their heavy 136-run loss against Afghanistan in the ongoing 2018 Asia Cup.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh saw Afghanistan coasting to a competitive total of 255 runs through twin half-centuries by Hashmatullah Shahidi (58) and Rashid Khan (57*). For a team that had defeated Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament, Bangladeshi fans wouldn't have doubted their team's ability to chase down the total. But, what eventually unfolded in Abu Dhabi left everyone stunned.

In response to Afghanistan's total, Bangladesh failed to find partnerships before being bundled out for a shambolic score of 119 runs. Shakib Al Hasan (32) tried to hold fort for his side, but barely found support from his teammates. Barring three players, none of the Bangladeshi cricketers could manage to score in double digits as Afghanistan celebrated Rashid's birthday in style.

While the defeat left Bangladeshi fans in disbelief, it also armed the trolls to take a dig at Mashrafe Mortaza's men on the social media.
