Mikel Arteta has been appointed head coach of English Premier League side Arsenal meaning a return to the club he played more than 100 games for.

The 37-year-old Spaniard, who played for the Gunners from 2011-2016, signed a three-and-a-half year contract and ends a three-year stay as Pep Guardiola´s assistant at Manchester City.

Congratulations started pouring in after the news of his appointed surfaced.

His wife Lorena Bernal also took to Instagram to express her feelings.

“It’s not about the goal, it’s about growing to become the person that can accomplish that goal” Blessed to watch you grow day by day!

Glad to be back," she wrote in the caption of a photo of Arteta.

The former footballer is married to Lorena Bernal, a famous actor and TV host, whom he met in 2002 and tied the knot with in 2010.

The couple has three sons: Gabriel, Daniel and Oliver.

Born in 1981 in Argentina, she moved to Spain at the very early age and later shifted to America where she started working as a model at the age of seven.
