An Indian Mans Guide To Wearing A Floral Shirt In 2017

It's not every day you meet someone who is tall, slender and ready for a wardrobe overhaul. Someone, who's (maybe) stuck in a rut, but enthusiastic about shaking things up a bit. Case in point, Manuel Fotedar—a no-nonsense guy who is primarily a sucker for all things simple but not basic. He also has a strange love for all things denim. But that's not the catch. If we may, he's never really gone the extra mile with denim. He wears the shirts, the blue/black denim but...nothing beyond. In fact, he'd rather dig his grave, than wear a graphic T-shirt with jeans. But, being a true sport that he is, he let us try things on he'd never wear in a lifetime, or if re-phrased—things he just finds ‘clown-y’. For starters, let’s consider a denim shirt with a twist.

Details on a denim shirt aren't one-in-a-million. In fact, leather and denim have always co-existed in fashion. Plus, you don't need a strong knack for experimentation to try it. As seen on Mr. Fotedar, the leather pocket on his denim shirt is only adding personality to his simply put-together outfit. The colours are subtle, it isn't a groundbreaking change, and yet we could yet call this his sartorial comfort zone.

Pro-Tip: You don't need dramatic rips, distressed jeans or heavy patchwork to make your denim stand out from the crowd. Small details such as pocket patches, contrast cuffs, contradictory stitches will ensure your place on the top, without you trying too hard. Next up, it’s time to try on a...wait for it...a floral shirt.

He called this his 'first'. His baby steps into the world of crazy summer prints. Though this isn't in ideology, the most radical summer print—for Mr. Fotedar, this was quite the leap. To prevent a quiver, we chose a darker shade of red for him and let him wear his beloved sneakers below. He looks quite convinced with this now, doesn't he?

He was quite delighted with the power of the flower! Besides, he also found the colour compliments his skin tone really well. Though this isn't something he'd wear every day, this could definitely be an outfit option for his next Tinder date. Becuase women are totally into the power of petals!

30 days of Denim' is a social experiment of sorts, or in layman terms, the ultimate Denim guide, on how to inject your personality, and inherent sense of self into, say, a basic-ass pair of jeans. Bonus: It features 30 really cool men, all with very distinct style sensibilities, but primarily, each having an innate love for all things denim.
